Hoist a mug of whatever you're having for Mrs. Badger and I, who are celebrating 20 years of marriage today! And we still like each other. It's an achievement in today's world.
🎉🥂🥳
Unfortunately we are both too sick to do anything fun to celebrate properly, but that will soon be remedied I'm sure.

Happy anniversary Badgers! ❤️ and get well soon!

Hello. You two have combined to create the right chemistry, good for you! You're right about the achievement. In my opinion young couples aren't willing to cooperate, compromise and give the relationship time to develop. My wife and I have been together 40 years in August and our motto has been this: "To get along, you must be willing go along". It has worked well for us. Congratulations!

Congratulations little puppies. We are going on 41 years. I still like my wife, even more than my fish.

My sister and brother in law have been together for 54 years.

Congratulations WB :)

We can't match Jay's relations but we're ahead of most forum members - we'll have been married 47 years in September.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!

That is an achievement in today’s society. You found a soulmate and together made a life together.

We will celebrate 54 years in December and I can tell you your next 34 will age like a fine wine.

When we were engaged, we asked an elderly widow friend of ours if she had any advice. Her reply: "Well, when things get hard, just remember that the first 50 years are always the hardest." It's part of what has gotten us through, this idea that marriage is permanent.

Yup, 30 yrs together this year for me and OH, and the, age wise, 40s, were the tricky years, after that you settle as life settles. the 40’s are where stuff gets real and you have a lot of responsibility imho which is what makes things tough.

I think so too. In the 30,s we build a foundation. In the 40’s into the 50’s we are a bit tired and sometimes look for exit doors in the foundation. We wonder, is it worth it?

Survive that and the rest is mostly a breeze, enjoyment without undue responsibility.
