2 - 55G or 1 x 80G?

holy cow! :blink:

did she say what she was doing with all those tanks and why she was getting rid of them now?

boy, do you have some work ahead of you! :eek:

>>> mobile home

Forgive my ignorance, but here, a "mobile home" is a relatively flimsy lightweight affair. Is your mobile homes floor certified to take the weight of multiple big tanks?

purple_drazi - She used to live in a 7,000+ square foot house. She had tanks "everywhere" and loved them. Although she did try to push undergravel filtering off on me. :blink: There was a house fire and she moved to a smaller place. Now she has some other issues and she is 70 years old and can't take of all the tanks if she was to set them up. :(

She is keeping a 29 though. :)

Lateral Line - They aren't that flimsy here, but they do creek a lot. If you notice the pictures from my photo journal you will see that I don't have the tanks up against the corner. The stand is against an internal wall and the feet are resting directly above the Iron Crossbars that create the frame for the mobile home. :)

>>> are resting directly above the Iron Crossbars

Fine, this point has obviously occurred to you! You'd be suprised how many people set up elegant looking solutions without considering the sheer weight of one or sometimes several tanks on a stand where all the weight is presented on 4 small angle iron feet or similar!

I'm currently in development of "My Stand" because I will be getting rid of the over under stand.

The stand I am working on will be built entirely of redwood and will be angled to hold both 55G and the 45G long in a corner. :) With the corner free for supplys. :p

I'm planning for it to have runners from each brace across the bottom to help distribute the weight along with center braces underneath where each tank will sit.
