1st Pics Of A New Tank

i thought id throw up some snaps of a new tank, so that over time as it matures there is a kind of record of its progress.

been running 3 months now.............

plants and wood/rock will come later, when i can be bothered hehe

thoughts ?

the 2nd & third pic is not cloudy, its air bubbles your seeing from the filter .

and the gap in the backing is there because my plec made a home behind the backing on the right of the pic, so until he finds a new home , im leaving the gap , lol

looking good at the mo but it looks like the water is a bit cloudy in the pic. definitely needs some more decorating and a small bunch of plants

have a closer look, its bubbles from the spray bar fella . plants and decoration can wait

bogwoods been soaked 40 times already , im about to put that into the tank this weekend , *maybe*

would also like to add that ive not lost any fish yet , and ive not cycled the tank either, although i have done 70 % water changes every 2 weeks for 3 months .

gosh, looks so nice just like it is! You could just leave it and have one of those modern scapes.

The bottom piece looks like Mopano... From the colouring (I'm probably wrong tho =))

Some bigger fish would be nice too but im not sure because of the nippin neons.

im not to worried about neons nipping bigger fish, and i may well add some bigger fish at some point , im currently debating adding one piece of wood ...hmmmmm

its not mopano, its just wet from soaking for the gazillionth time...........

If it were me id have that first piece of wood placed at the back left corner, like a tree trunk sort of thing, with small rocks around it.

Are you going for a natural look?

Just an idea.... you could try and grown java moss up over the rocky backing, and on the wood, that will look very natural and real.

the plan is to have a planted tank , im not a massive subscriber to java moss, even if it might be the flavor of the month on here.... mind you, a piece of wood could look nice with moss all over it


we will see, in time ....
