Hi guys just to let u know ive had my 1st guppy babies :) (37 of them) ive had mollies and platy's b4 (well the ones i got our my babies from a few yrs ago) my other guppies r heavily pregnant, at moment they r in a breeding trap but once they r abit bigger ill move them into my other tank to grow on ;) ill post some pics when i got a chance

*Update*

Ive bought a 1 1/2 foot tank now for them and ive transfered them over, they look happier now :)

bet there loving it in there new tank, all that space for them to grow, i just hope you know what your letting yourself in for with guppies

Thats great! i had my first guppy fry on friday, check my avatar.

They're so cute arnt they? :)

I think a separate tank is the good way to go, as I see you have 5 angels, I used to have many baby guppies, but after introducing angels, they cleaned them all, whereas others used to ignore them. Sad but learnt the hardway. Even though angels were small.

Well Done!

congrats! i can remember getting my first batch of guppy fry i was so chuffed and then they kept on breeding lots and lots lol be prepared for more.
Good Luck.

awh im jealous now :p . i've had mine for a month and two days (two of them, the others for two weeks) and they're huge. but no babies yet.

Congratulations with you babies

Here is a funky thought, what if all of your fry thrive and, as Guppys interbreed without question, all of them fall pregnant at once. That would be 37 fry, lets say 18 female. 18 x 37 = 666 baby fish

Doesnt that just sound cool, its a huge improbability but I love pndering strange thoughts :good:

Good luck with future breeding !!

Chris

The father is a neon blue, and the mother has a yellow tail so...... my mother is having 90% of the fry as she just wants a guppy tank... Has any1 heard of a guppy dieing giving birth? my neon blue female died last night but she had a lil baby coming out of her? is it common? (my platy and mollies r preggies aswell now) i aint got the room for them lol

I have got 3 female guppies and one of them had babies last night! They are so cute and small! theres only 4 of them but I am glad to be honest! I think all 3 females are pregnant! They must have been when I bought them because ive only had them since last weekend! what should I do with all the fry?

well i had a molly diewhen giving birth, but she was only small herself but a few of her adult sized siblings also died when giving birth, it still puzzles me how they all died giving birth (5 siblings in total)

This is not uncommon, I have kept and bred guppies for years and one of my large females dropped her fry a few days ago and yesterday I found her dead in the tank.

I was absolutely gutted as she is one of my larger nicer females. This is something that just happens. It may have been that she was old when you bought her or it just went wrong for her after the birth.

I checked my water just in case and everything is perfect so I know it wasn't water quality.

Keep some of the baby fry and this way you will know exactly how old they are.

Today I just bought 4 extremely large females and with split tails so I am going to assume they are lyretail females. I have never seen any like this and I snatched them up.

I don't expect them to live long as they are enormous and prob old. Let's hope I get some fry from them before it happens.
