15gg Oddball Tank...

ok, they will be in freshwater not brackish anyway, but what about one Bristlenose? will that stand its way more?

The pinned topic on puffers says that each individual fish is different. If you can find a Red-eyed, red tailed puffer, and you get a female bristlenose and provide it with lots of hidey holes, then it might, possibly keep its fins. I think a mature male's bristles would be far too tempting for a puffer to snack on. Still, more than with any other kind of fish except cichlids, your mileage may vary. Keep a close eye on things and have a bail out solution handy (a tank with spare space for the bristlenose). This will never be a safe situation, mind you, because puffers get more aggressive as they mature.

Nope I wouldn't risk it.
After seeing the aggression from different kinds of puffers, I would say they are much safer to keep on their own unless you really know what you are doing!
HTH,
