Theres still not much progress tank wise because i still need to finish of making the lid and get filtration sorted out.
Ive changed my mind alot on stocking though so thought i would start a new topic and put any progress in here. The plan for stocking now is
4 Hypselecara coryphaenoides (only keeping a pair once they pair)
4 Uaru amphiacanthoides (Again only keeping a pair)
6 Geophagus red head
15 Lemon tetra

I know there not from Tapajos but im also going to have
3 BN+fry
4 Banjo catfish

Im going to order the Hypselecara in the next few days from oddballs express. There only 1.5" so will be going into my 30G until the 150G is set up.
My LFS are going to do me a deal on 4 Uraus for £35 they will only be small but it seems a fair price.
Ive found a breeder around here where ill be able to get F1 Geophagus for £5 they will only be about 3" But then all the other fish are only small so they can all grow up together.

Sounding good

Cheers.
I was going to go for a pair of Heros Efasciatus which can be found in tapajos but with 2 pairs of fish that could reach 30cm i thought that any more fish might be a bit risky.

Well i was just doing some more research and found our Banjo catfish are spread over most of Brazil so theres a good chance they could be found in Tapajos.

Well i just got home with a Platydoras armatulus. Its about 3" long. I got it as a swap at my LFS with 6 Marble hatchets.

And there spines which run down there side

Always been tempted by these. Still concidering getting a pair for my 180G.

Liking the tank stocking ideas. Keep the updates flowing.

They seem like great fish so far. They seem alot more active than what i had been told.
Will do. I plan on ordering the Hypselecara in the next day or 2 so should have pics soon.

There are some great Rio Tapajos tanks on youtube. Saw one 1600ltr that was stunning.

I can't at the moment but, you can find some great Rio Tapajos Setups, all with Red Heads. I love Red Heads now. The one I like had a small ray maybe 8 inches in it. I wish I could find it.

Ive been trying to stick to a Tapajos biotope but im really tempted by a trio of Hujeta Gar. Do you think they could work? I would have to drop the Lemon tetra for them but im not to bothered about that.

Gars are mad looking fish and if the tank is big enough then go for it, they look awesome and prehistoric :hyper: sticking to a certain area like Tapajos is a nice idea but if the fish from that area arent all what you want then what the hell have fish you want and like otherwise whats the point..... :good:

Hmm i am tempted but i like the idea of doing a biotope so im going to try and stick to it as much as i can. Im trying to find out if Sorubim limas can be found in Tapajos because all i can find so far is there widespread over Brazil hopefully they will work because my LFS have had a 6" one in for a few months now.
