Pauliooo The buddha's a bit small, so it's head won't stick out of the water (I hope... ). He's gonna go on one corner on an elevated "hill". So it looks like he's looking over this japanese rock garden thing (exposed sand and some random rocks). I did "age" the buddha a bit with a non-toxic ceramic dye. He was white when I got him And just like what you said, I'd like to encourage algae growth on him as well. Hopefully it will be the green algae that will stick to him and not the brown one
This nano journal would not have materialized if it not for Sam starting this whole nano mess.
The plan with the budah sounds cool B) that'll look wicked if you can get it to work, which Im sure to can It'll be like walking though the valley of a lost civilisation with ancient statues poking out of the ground. Way cool my friend, way cool
His was more of a "forgotten civilization" thing (like what you suggested, Sam & Dubby), mine would be more of a well kept japanese rock garden. (Yes! I'm copying a "copy" of nature again. Can you see a trend here? ) I really like this rock garden, I'm hoping I could pull off something similar but in a smaller scale. (Sam, this explains that "can you draw on sand" thread in the chitchat forum )
Can't wait to see this tank up and running. I'm assuming you still want the laterite and light timers?
llj
Why? Are you keeping them hostage???
Yes, please And don't worry, I still have your xmas moss. I just took them out during the 10 gallon's photo op I'm still waiting for my new bedside table so... no hurry
Hahaha! Still playing the Godfather eh? June cannot come quickly enough, but apparently, my desk can! It arrived today without warning. The tank fits perfectly on it (don't mind the disgusting carpet color )
The new heater that I am expecting also came on time. I also thought I'd start algae-fying (haha) the buddha. So I set up the tank by the window to get lotsa sunshine. Had a last minute "change of mind" yet again. I'm liking this figurine better.
Like I'd soak my precious Neo in water (Yes, yes, revel in my geekdom! ) So anyway, the buddha's a-soaking and hopefully will be greenish by June

What? Think you've been at the caffeine again!
I'm a slave to pepsi. What can I say?
Ehmm. The lava balls are 18 mm in diameter. I will be attaching the anubias nana petite on them. So it kinda looks like a topiary thing, but not quite. It's gonna look something like this:
Too gaudy? (Also note that the orange gets even more distracting now that I've placed the lava rock on it )
