12vdc Timer

does anybody know of a cheap 12 dc timer with battery backup, i'm trying to make a feeder and have everything now except the correct timer any ideas

Whenever I see 12V dc, I start thinking "car parts", so my first thought was a scrap yard and an old clock! Knock the glass out, take the minute hand off and arrange for the hour hand to trip a microswitch, or if it is to flimsy, glue a magnet to it and use that to operate a reed, or Hall effect switch.

There are also a load of central heating timers around that work at dc and with batteries.
