129G Planted Oddball Tank

Wow Ninjouzata, I can already tell that your tank will be breathtaking.  You've put alot of thought and effort into this already, and it really shows.  If I had read this thread prior to doing my own tank things would have been much different.  Really beutiful choice of decoration, from the background to the type of driftwood, and even to your choice of refinishing your cabinet in black.  Well done so far, very well done :)  Please keeps the pics coming as your tank develops.

Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! ^-^

Not much going on, all the wood has sunk. I think we'll need to take the lids off for me to position them more but I'm waiting on the caves to be finished before we do that. Still leaching tannin :)

^Lol, sorry for the sock! I thought I got everything moved away for the pic. :c

Side view, shows the darkness of the water more sort of?

Still waiting on plants to get in stock. One of them did recently, just waiting on a couple more.. >.<

Only a little bit of tannins! :p

You should email him, I saw he has red lotus back in stock, as well as anubias nana.

Looks good!

Tannins will clear eventually but certainly won't do any harm to your stocking or plants for sure.

Getting there!

Coming together....not a tannin fan, but you'll get it under control eventually lol

Im still getting my tannins under control in my 75, did like 250% water change in a week lol, and my 55 gallon is just tea colored dont mind it.

Nope, tannin releasing wood gets tossed back into the pond if it cant be controlled while in a display lol Really really not a fan

Wow :p I don't really mind it either but I'd prefer to not have it, so I can see my fish better. My eye-sight is bad enough without adding dark colored water!

Most definitely :D

Not much has changed..we finally picked up some more filter media so I can replace the media we're taking out of the other tanks so I can start cycling it.

There was a fish in it today, temporarily of course, thought ya'll might like to see :)

HERE is my thread that I put pics of all my tanks on (except the 129), including the 10g he has been moved to! I try to keep the 129 off of there and this one 129 only as best as I can.
It just seems more organized that way to me but these ones are going to overlap a bit unfortunately!

On there (and posting them here for those that don't want to look at the other thread) is also pics of another angel that will go into this 129 when I'm ready. He's currently staying in my 20g flatback hex.

He's eating already and was defending the pellets I had in there, trying to nip the other fish when they got close. He didn't run away from me at all, even got really close to my hand when it was in the tank.
I think he'll be similar to the other angel in appetite and attitude. :)

Oy! This tank has come a long way, but everybody still wants to see the final stocking :D Great job Nin!

Thankies! I wish it wasn't taking so long but I want it to be perfect for the fish.

Did he like all the room?

Uh, I'm not sure :p He had to stay on the bottom and use his "ears" to hold himself in place. I think the current was too much.

Just read through, and your tank is looking amazing, good job there. Can't wait to see it cycled and stocked, but I imagine the stocking is about two months away as you have to cycle it first. Looking fab so far x

Thank you very much! Yeah it's still a ways off. We just put some bits of filter media from my other tanks in yesterday, will add ammonia today to get started on cycling.
