Hi all,

I've been at Jeremy Gay's (Practical Fishkeeping technical writer) house all day setting up his 120x40x45cm tank.

So far Jeremy has had difficulties with hi-tech methods, so he asked me to help with the setting up, maintenance schedule and aquascaping. Jeremy is a huge fan of Nature Aquarium aquascaping and wanted a simple Iwagumi layout.

The whole step-by-step will be featured in a future issue of PFK, so I'm not allowed to tell or show you too much...

So here's a sneak preview -

Rocks courtesy of Aqua Essentials - http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...roducts_id=1435

Plants courtesy of Tropica (it's planted now, but not in the photo). http://www.tropica.com

Thanks to Dan Crawford (UKAPS graphics and merchandising guy) for his assitance too.

This is a great size tank for an Iwagumi it will look dreamy when the fish are added and it has fully grown out, should look amazing when done.

Jeremy your in capable hands ;) Well done to all involved, impressive so far, definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Nice shot as well.

I'd say Dave Spencer will be impressed with a 120cm Iwagumi setup

Update. Coming along nicely, ready for final pro photoshoot soon.

Jeremy is currently trying to decide on fish selection. It will be a large shoal of a single species, of course.

You'll have to buy the magazine to see. I'll let you know which forthcoming issue it will feature in soon.

Thanks again to Aqua Essentials for supplying the awesome rock.

That looks amazing. :good: I'm looking forward to the PFK article.

Looks incredible, it has grown a lot.

I'm looking forward to the final pictures.

Looks Awesome George.

Now the rocks have greened up. they look like 2 iguanas about to face off against each other(but thats just me)

Two questions. What is the carpeting plant pictured and do you know if rocks like those are available anywhere in the US?

 Very nice tank again George! I'm sure Jeremy ism well pleased with it. I think PFK is leaning towards E.I which is a very good thing- thanks to you. :good:

Also I want some stuff 'courtesy' of AE and Tropica
Good work keep it up.

Several places sell jing jing rock.
It's a chinese rock actually and does harden the water a little.
There's some posters on TPT that are selling it as well as a few local places here in CA that sell it.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Should look quality once planted.

George - hows he finding the EI? Much algae?

It is planted and the glosso carpet looks awesome. I did post a photo but PFK didn't want to spoil the "surprise", so I've removed it.

There were some fairly major algae issues but they were sorted with a combo of water changes, leaner dosing, better CO2 and algae-eaters. The algae eaters were the best attack actually. It will be detailed in a forthcoming article in PFK, of course.

I'll be seeing the tank in the flesh next week so will get a sneak preview photo. A close-up rather than full tank shot.

Thanks everyone.
