120 Litre Planted

Thank you! The corys are so tiny! They've sent me long fins too.

Just read your thread and seen you're breaking your lido down!! Haven't been on here for a while so been catching up. What you gonna do with your fish?

Just realised the albino cory in the pic isn't the longest finned one. Will have to try and get a photo of him as his dorsal fin is as tall as his body is!

I rehomed some fish and moved others about.

Exciting day today. Bought crabs and snails(Clean up crew) for the Lido and my apisto panduro's produced fry in the Rio.:hyper:

the first cac is a male and the other is a double red female. :good:

Thanks Ian. They came out of the bag this colour, so I was really surprised by how colourful they were to say that they'd been stuck in that bag for 24 hours. It did make me doubt whether she was female initially. Once I'd watched them a bit I became a bit more convinced though. :)They're doing really well.

Ian, is the male a double or triple red? He was sold as a double red but he has the colouring on his anal fin?

It has been an exciting day for you Mark! I like the panduros, they're blackwater fish though aren't they?

Tiz a double red, i have tripple red males and they are biiiiiiiiig, although now you mention it, its certainly got some nice colouration going on. :>

Great looking set-up...worth the wait!

I have salvinia natans in my 4' which has gone mental, gone from a couple of plants on ebay to half covering the tank in just a month or so; and thats ultra low-tech...bit ignorant where the CO2 is concerned, but if that stuff promotes growth then you are in for an avalanche of green on top if my lots growth rate is anything to go by! My poor old frogbit never had a chance; trimmed by the Ilyodons and forced out by the salvinia...ah well, survival of the fittest!

Your apistos look cool! :good:

Aww thanks :) I'm glad it turned out well after all this time! I'm quite chuffed with it. Welcome back Biulu!

JD, I got a fairly decent sized portion of the salvinia natans from eBay. I like it, will see how fast it grows though haha.

The apistos are constantly together, they seem to be getting on well. They were sold as a pair, but whether that means they had actually paired up at the LFS or not I don't know. They're quite young still anyway.

Had a few casualties on the first night, 5 lampeyes :( I'm gutted. None since then though, and everyone seems happy and is behaving normally, and the water parameters are all good. Maybe those lampeyes just didn't cope with the stress of the move. :-( The remaining 5 seem ok, and none of the others are having any problems.

The kuhlis seem to be able to get out of the filter easily. They swim through the vent and sit on top of the sponge. We went out yesterday, and came back to find a kuhli sticking his head out of the filter vent! I thou he was stuck, but as soon as I put my hand in the tank he shot out. Will have to do something with it though.

Kuhlis are known for this, and unless you have an external filter, I think they will find a way of getting in there

Yeah I've heard of them doing it. I'm not sure whether they'll be able to get into the powerhead though that's all. They seem to just go in and sit on top of the sponges.

ps. my khulis were found in my external. Had to put a sock on the inlet. They get into everything.

I've put one of those little socklet things on the inside of the vent. You know the ones that are the same material as tights (or pantyhose :)) and put the glass magnet on either side to secure it. It's worked :) but I did find the smallest kuhli dead in there a few weeks ago before I did it :( so I went straight upstairs to find something to fix it. They haven't been able to get in since.

Just been having a look back through this thread. It's been ages since I've been on here!
The tank hasn't really changed much! It's been set up for just over a year now. Here's a more recent photo:
