12 Inch Ornate In With....

a 8 inch garfish

2 X 7 inch Soribum lima's

1 X severum....5 inches

1 x armoured cat....7 inches

1 X pims blochii....6 inches

Thoughts please.....Would they be safe......................I am un decided

I would have said that they would be fine, but the gars and the pims are pretty slim fish and can easily be swallowed by a hungry ornate... I wouldn't risk it. I know mine would try and eat them!

125 gallons and it's a florida

i understand florida gars need 200+galon tanks as there can obtain sizes between 3-5feet............
i think the ornate will be ok in there

Yeah, florida gars need a bigger tank, however 5 feet is very unlikely in the captivity. They are still quite rigid and need wide tanks.

The ornate should be fine.

Soribum limas are pretty flat.....Would an adult ornate try to eat one?

I thnk a good 12 inch one it would struggle. I had one once and it's whiskers stretched half the tank! (well almost ).
They are flat but quite wide because of it. I think like many have said keep an ornate fed well and he will be contented unless a very easy meal presents itself

Sorry to steel the post. I have put 6 Hoplos in with my Ornate, do you think they are gonna end up a snack? I really want to keep them in this tank too, ut have a replacement tank if needed.
