12 Inch Common Pleco

hi , i have a 12 inch common plec. One question though , i hae bought some algae discs , how many about do you think i should feed him a day??

How large are the algae wafers/discs/tablets and what brand are they? Try putting one in at first and see how long long it takes for him to eat it and then put in another- common plecos will refuse algae wafers when they're full up so you can use this to help tell the maximum amount of food you should feed the pleco a day. Also it is good to vary the pleco's diet and not just feed it solely off algae wafers, common plecos enjoy foods like cucumber and prawns and corgette etc in their diets too .

Mines 12" he eats prawn i put in for the reed fish! I put some variety wafers in and a few of the bigger algae ones in, 3-4 should do him he'll go upside down and hoover up flake from the top if hes hungry

I love it when mine do that, but they do it because they like them I guess, they will ignore other food and come see you when you lift the lid.
Malcolm will let you put the flakes directly in to his mouth, but he is a bit weird.
