1000 Us Gal Project

My jaw has just hit the floor, my tongue has jsut rolled down the stairs, out the house, across the street, past the shops and is now somewhere down the M69. Good god this is one stunning tank. You are one hell of a lucky guy to be able to house, afford and keep such a wonderfull creation as this tank. So very very envious :)

Your stocking is just amazing. Shame the goldfish never made it aye.

this one

i will take some new pics/video tomorrow

a few things have been sold as i just want to focus on the black rays again

fly river turtle SOLD
marble motoro SOLD

i was going to sell the lince cat but i don't think it will be fair to sell it to anyone with a smaller tank than mine so he will be staying now for life

i had a big problem with gill worm on the rays it was only the p14 who had it and the marble motoro and Leo were fine

the p14 were bad and didn't eat for near 3 weeks and i thought i was going to lose them

BUT finding what the problem was very difficult and i tried a few things that didn't work like high temp and salt

i found out it was gill worm and treated with sera tremazol which was very expensive to treat my tank £180 but worth every £ as the rays started eating again after 48 hours

everything is now back on track and the p14 are doing better than ever to tell the truth they are better than in the old tank so i think they may have had the gill worm in the old tank

its like a war zone now at feeding time

Hi, have looked over this thread so many times now, awesome tank, JEALOUS!!!!!
Love the picture of the cat lol , I know that's what my ones would be like if the tank was in the lounge, cracking pics mate, well done :good:

Its amazing how well this ray recovered after he beating

it took about 2 weeks to recover from the pic above to like she is now perfect and growing real well

T1kerman! I haven't been to this site in.. oh... 3 years and I come back to this. ASTOUNDING JOB.

This is gankutsuou if you remember me :]

I'm about to set up my biggest tank yet (a sneeze to you) at 125 gallons. I'll set it up with something overhead and a powerful fluval. I want a lot of plants, so my stocking is going to be limited, but it'll be based around my old albino senegal (remember when those were rare?)

-substrate - sand
xX Planted areas (Java moss on bog woods, swords, wisteria, find some penny wort)
1x Senegal Bichir
1x Syno Cat (rarer?)

now contendors include

1-2X Specialty plecos that stay around 6 inches to 8 so they dont go uprooting things
1x Black ghost knife (possible... I love these guys. how do you think this would work with a senegal?)
3-5x Clown loach (Possibly? I hear they may uproot plants :[)

then I'm thinking I want a really cool syno, angelicus or granulosus, both come through my area from time to time.

so then, got any suggestions? I;m sure your thoughts arent only on monsters XD

this may sound strange but i only really know about the types of fish i keep as i have been keeping them for 25 years +

rays for about 15 years
Aros for 25 years

i think the mix of most things will work if you can live with a bit of aggression

the trick is to get fish that are well matched in size

my big dat pulcher and aro do fight from time to time but they are very well matched in size and mass some times the aro is boss and others times it the pulcher
