Yep that's about my price range! lol :nod: they would be ideal. I will keep looking, I think for now I will just have to concentrate on the fish and/or the sand and possibly some wood/stone until next payday :good:

Hi panda_cory thanks I know what you mean, it will look more 'shop display' and yeh the background I have dark planting, but the other side is lighter, more like a vivarium background, so I'm going to change it round :o)

Hi Salam thanks that looks great, but I have a hood on my tank (need it because I have a cat! lol) I could do with somehting that will fit under the hood. thanks Mike, I think black would just make my tank darker :(

Yep that's just how I wash my rice (in a saucepan though, not a bucket! lol) Well I have an airstone inside the long tube which screws to the undergravel plate and I assumed this was an undergravel filter, but to be honest I've been wondering how it works? Maybe I'm just running the airstone...

Thanks that sounds good. I've heard that play sand (from Argos) is fine to use as long as its thoroughly rinsed first and a layer of gravel is put down first to stop the filters getting clogged. I am definately going to get some live plants too, next question is lighting... at the moment my...
