i call it a shoal but a lot of people call it a school of fish. corys dont like salt at all, but the guppys will be fine without it. i wouldnt get more than 6 neons to start with, that way if you do breed the guppys there will still be plenty of room.
hi, corys are a good idea not only do they make a good job of cleaning the bottom but also they are great to watch. if i where you i'd buy 2 cory doras and maybe a small shoal of neons too.
sorry but i have to disagree. dwarf gourami can be kept in a 5g tank min so a 10g would be fine. also dwarfs only grow to a max of 2" as adults. as far as danio go, i have kept them with gourami with no problems.
i've never had any problems with danios but i have to agree about the gouramis, males and females together oftern don't get along. if you still want to keep dwarfs i recommend 2 females.
in my aquarium i have, 12 neons, 5 black widow tetras, 5 flame tetras and 2 cory's. reciently i have noticed small tares in some of my fishes fins. does anyone have an idea which fish might be doing this? i thought tetras where friendly :/
thanks.
hi all, i have just set up my second tropical aquarium. the tank is now ready for fish but i already have a community setup so i am thinking about buying 2 frogs. can anyone tell me which fish i might be able to keep with the frogs. i would like to add a shoal of neons but i'm unsure if the...
hi lorraine, welcome. if i were you i'd wait a while before adding more fish to your aquarium. as you havnt had it set up long, allow it settle down for a couple more days then see how the fish are doing. how big is your tank in feet?

thanks for the advice i've been offerd 2 shubunkins from a friend, the fish are currently in a pond but do you think it would be safe put them in my pond being from the same area? i thought it may be to cold but i wasn't sure.
hi, i have just set up my pond and i was wondering how long would it be best left before adding fish? i have added a lilly and 2 iris's but what else could i do to make it more livable for the fish. its not too big being about 3ft by 3 ft by about 3 and half ft deep.
thanks. i have another catfish, it has the same features but it's black and silver. it's a strange fish because when i netted him the other day he started shivering and making a high pitched noise. is this normal?
hiya and welcome. can you tell me the size of your tank and the filter you are using? first things first, when you set up your tank did you use any cleaners? if so you might have accidently poisoned your fish. cleaners such as washing up liquid will leave a film on the glass which will polute...
