The juwel can be fitted on any tank if you cut a hole in the hood. It comes with the adaptor that fits in the hood.

    Possibly A Swim Bladder Problem

Hi, I have heard that flake food can have this effect, as it swells up after being eaten. Have you tried feeding thawed and shelled frozen pees? It usually has a good effect with buoyancy problems. You could also try pre-soaking the flakes. I've tried pellets as an alternative regular diet, but...

    Help Me Please! Im Desperate!

Maybe if you could get it in a tuppaware container and let it float in the tank, you could keep changing the water and feed it the appropriate diet :dunno:

    Change To Api

I'm using the API master test kit after reading that most people use these. I'm not that impressed with it i must say. Apart from the leaky caps on the tubes there are also other issues. The Nitrate test is widely regarded as inacurate, and a pain to use. The ph system of two range tests could...

New Tank And Starting To Cycle It...with Fish

Thats good news. You may well be cycled for those 4 fish, but when you put more stock in you will have a mini cycle until the bacteria build up again. If you have cycled in 12 days as it seems, that product has helped, I would say. Keep testing, and if you go 7 days with zero readings it's cycled.

    Pregnant Platy Emergancy

Probably just pregnant, they usually are, at different stages. We got 7 a few weeks ago, within no time we had 2 give birth and now have about 20 little fry in their own tank. They can also have more than one pregnancy from a single mating.

    Neon Tetra Help

You could isolate the pregnant fish in a net or floating breeding tank or do the same with the agressive individual maybe :dunno:

First Time Tank - Ammonia, Nitrite And Nitrate After 2 Days, But From

Hi, your readings seem to indicate your cycle is progressing. As you have increased nitrites, this must mean your ammonia is being processed by something, into nitrite. These quick start products are regularly rubbished, but i'm begining to believe they do what they say. As you have not added...

Houston We Have A Problem...fish Dying...

Hard to say without your water stats. But suspect water quality could be an issue. Adding macros- micros- algae treatment could be involved? I had 4 danios as my first fish, loosing one and another injured after them being trapped in a plastic plant. When i got them i didn't realise they do...

    Help

Sorry you lost your fish, don't blame yourself. You have good water quality and made a good chioce to fishless cycle. I had 4 danios as my first fish, loosing one and another injured after being trapped in a plastic plant. When i got them i didn't realise they do better in cooler water, around...

New Tank And Starting To Cycle It...with Fish

That's just what you should expect to see, except it would have taken weeks without the Tetrastart!!!! Looks like you're well on the way with the cycle now. You will need to keep up your water changes to keep the Nitrite below 0.25ppm, as it will more than likely increase rapidly until the...

    Transferring To A Bigger Tank

If you could remove the exixting filter sponges and squeeze them out into the new filter. The actual sponges hardly ever need renewing, just clean filter sponges by rinsing them in some removed tank water when cleaning the tank or doing water changes. This only needs doing when the flow is...

    Transferring To A Bigger Tank

I would think it's going to take a number of weeks for the new filter to become established. If you could prime it by washing the existing filter sponges through the new one's that could help a little. I would leave it to settle down for a week before doing that though.

New Tank And Starting To Cycle It...with Fish

It's better than the last test, as the nitrIte has reduced by over 80% Is this due to water changes, or maybe the filter removing it? If you can keep those results the same until the tank has cycled, the fish will probably be ok. Do water changes if necessary to keep Ammonia and Nitrite below...

    Transferring To A Bigger Tank

Hi,all sounds good. If you wish, just fill it up with temp-matched de-clorinated water, it will be fine. If the "new" filter has been used before and then been out of water for a while, it may have gone off. If so i would clean it out before it goes in your new tank. :good:

New Tank And Starting To Cycle It...with Fish

I am quite new to this, so am happy to be corrected over this... After 5 days you have 2.0ppm nitrite!!! I think that indicates a rapid growth in healthy bacteria in your filter. I would say the tetra product has speeded things up somewhat. If you can do the water changes, using the seachem...

    Fish

Hi, as no one has replied yet, i thought i'd try to help out with my limited knowledge. It really depends on which fish you want to keep and the dimensions of the tank. My first tank was 60 litres and was fully, NO, overstocked at 5 Ticto Barbs 4 Zebra Danio 5 Platty 1 Opaline Gouram1 The first...

    Danio Has Curved Spine?

You have a point, and i know how you feel. My introduction post was read and ignored for two or three days until anyone thought it sociable to reply. Maybe i came across wrong and alienated readers, sometimes written words don't convey enough about the author and their intentions. I have treated...

    Danio Has Curved Spine?

I would hope the lack of response to your posts is nothing personal, if it was then that's a shame, after all it's the fishes that matter. I do think it may be difficult for anyone without real experience of diagnosis and treatment to offer much help in this section. Thanks, i would like to get...

    Juwel Trigon 350

Hi, Juwel tanks don't need foam underneath as they have a supporting frame. Sounds like your stand is out of true if you have gaps. That would be really bad with the weight when filled with water.

    Danio Has Curved Spine?

Hi, very sorry you lost your Danio, and sorry no one responded to your post. I don't know what illness caused the loss of your fish, but thought i would write something anyway. I lost one of my first group a few weeks ago. I have another female now with a stress induced infection after being...

Can Anyone Advise, Problem With Danio?

Thanks Zoddy. I could just leave it to nature and hope for a recovery like you saw, but it's not eating at all. I would think it's getting too weak to recover, but i don't know much about these fish. Were your fish eating through all the trouble?

Can Anyone Advise, Problem With Danio?

I've been treating the fish for swimbladder disorder but it's not responding. It can only move eraticaly and has no balance, and just rests on it's side now. I think the kindest thing to do would be to administer clove oil and end the suffering. It can't last much longer, it has not eaten in...

Can Anyone Advise, Problem With Danio?

The fish managed to dislodge the blockage and all was well for a few days. I think the fish is going to die though as it is just drifting in a listing position. I have had to hold it in the net to stop the others bothering it. It does swim but cannot balance now. I feel somewhat to blame by...

I Got My Test Kit, I'm 2 Weeks Into A "fish In Cycle" Advi

Hi,Thought i'd start the ball roling. You need to do another water change/changes to lower the 2.0ppm nitrite reading. You should aim to keep it below 0.25ppm. I think others will advise 90% water changes to lower the nitrite quickly. I would do three 50% water changes 1n the next 24 hours and...

Is Algae Bad For Your Fish?

My tank is covered in brown algae. It's been set up only six weeks so all that algae shows that it has now cycled maybe?. We got 4 danios and then 4 Ticto barbs initally. Today we bought six salt/pepper platy, and they instantly went about eating all the brown algae. They've eaten so much from...

Can Anyone Advise, Problem With Danio?

I realise this sounds strange but has anyone seen something like it before? It's horrible to watch it try to eat and being unable to. I am worried it will starve to death. I have three others all doing well. I have looked after them really well, keeping the water safe while the tank is maturing...

Can Anyone Advise, Problem With Danio?

Hello, I have a problem with one of my Zebra danios. It looks like it has something stuck in it's mouth. At first i thought it was food, but it looks green, like a narrow leaf sticking out about 1mm. It tried to eat but was unable to, and is hiding among the plants. Any advice would be much...
