I'm having a similar problem with my guppy. He just doesn't seem to recognize the fact that there are girls in the tank! PS- bowties are cool. As are fezzes.

The most accurate way to tell if she's about to drop is if she is "squared off" yet. There should be a pinned topic at the top of the Livebearers page describing what this looks like.

When I had ich in my tank, I added in aquarium salt and it worked wonders, but it's not too great for live plants.

Like I said, she doesn't look completely squared based on the picture, and if you don't want a ton of fry, you can always just let nature take its course and let the babies fend for themselves.

You might want to put your male in the breeder trap if he's bothering her too much, but if he's pretty much leaving her alone, I'd just let her be for now.

If you're still having a problem with ich, aquarium salt worked wonders for me when I had an infestation. It literally cleared up all the ich within a week of adding it!

Another thing you can do to speed the healing process of his fins is to add in some aquarium salt. The instructions should be on the container. Salt is also really great for getting rid of ich without using anything artificial, if the need for a cure ever comes up.

Welcome to the forum! :hi: Both of your platies are pregnant! As for the fry, you can grab a breeder net at your LFS and put them there, keep them in a seperate tank, or just leave them be in your regular tank with lots of hiding places. Keep an eye on them, and pretty soon you'll have lots...

You're trap looks great! Crushed up flakes are a good food to feed fry; you can feed them 2-3 times a day, (this is what I did) but you can feed them more often if you really want to. Put in a tiny pinch per feeding, and remove any uneaten food.
