    20Gal Long Tank Circulation

Hey guys, I am relatively new to the planted aquariums, but I've been progressing along for the last 4-5 months. I currently have a 20 gallon long tank (~76cm) with an AC20 HOB filter. I just upgraded my lighting to a dual HO T5 and I am running a DIY CO2 injection in as well. My question...

    Craft And Homebrew Thread

New dIPA recipe. I brewed this up on 3/3/12.. I might bottle this one up this week or next week. Tastes very citrusy/pungent.

    My Work In Progress

I keep my temperature at 78F. I think a bigger problem would be the amount of sifting that a dojo can do (which was 10x's worse when I had geophag's). The GBR's seem to be much more sensitive to pollutants than anything else.

    My Work In Progress

I've had this tank for a few months now. Still relatively new to aquaria. It's been evolving nicely, but the scaping is still a work in progress. I've been focusing on increasing my plant stocks lately by taking cuttings. I'll keep this thread updated every now and then. Advice is appreciated...

    Craft And Homebrew Thread

I've actually made a few ciders. Pear cider was my absolute favorite. Here's one that has been aging for 10 months. I kegged the Black IPA a couple weekends ago and its coming around nicely. Finished out about 8.1% abv. Very much like a dark IPA at first taste, but with a nice background of...

    African Butterfly Fish With Serpae?

My ABF is pretty tame with everything (except crickets). He definitely comes down from the surface after the lights go out, but I've housed him with a couple otos for several months with absolutely no issues. Like NOTG said, I'd be more weary of the ABF getting a bad haircut than anything else.

This is a 3 month old double IPA I made. Well carbonated and pretty hoppy.

    Craft And Homebrew Thread

Hey guys, So many similarities with brewing and aquaria. Thought I'd start a thread celebrating the finer sides beer. Grab out your bottle openers and lets see what you have chilling in those mugs. :good: If any of you are homebrewers out there, feel free to share your current brews and/or...

    Bloated Dwarf Gourami

I had the exact same thing happen to my powder dwarf about 4 months back. I was thinking it was dropsy more than anything else. If the scales are raised, that would probably be the diagnosis. In any case, I've read that it is hard to cure DGD and Dropsy once it is bloated to that extent. Sorry...

    Dwarf Gourami And Water Current

I can only speak for my particular DG, but he seemed to thrive well in either type of water. I did notice though, when I removed the bubbler to better suit my plants... my DG started immediately taking plants to the surface and start attempting a bubble nest. He used to be the king of the entire...

    Greetings From The Twin Cities

I live down in Eagan, just 10 minutes South of MSP. Feel free to give me a holler sometime. I actually made the pieces of art in the background, and some in the front. They are fused glass. Basically pre-cut pieces of glass laid on a plate, then thrown in a hot kiln to fuse together. I have a...

    Greetings From The Twin Cities

Yeah its Minnesota. My fish store owner recommended the geophagus' to me because my gourami was being so territorial. He said I can always return them when they get larger and if I don't upgrade my tank, they are pretty small right now. As for the kuhli, I wish they had more that day or else I...

    Greetings From The Twin Cities

Hey everyone. New to the boards here, just started up my aquarium hobby within the last 3 or 4 months. I do biology academically and chemistry professionally. Still PLENTY to learn. I am already on my second tank, I gave my first one to a friend (looks like I got him started in the hobby as...
