Hiya, my tank has started to get cloudy, it's not too bad at present. The fish are fine and all my levels are fine. I think it's probably through over feeding. Will it clear or do I have to do water changes to clear it. Thanks for any replies.

It does drop, it just takes about 36-48 hours to do so. I was thinking of putting 10 or so neons in to start and keep checking the levels. Hopefully it might sort itself out. What do you think.

Thanks fishy, but I have already done an 80% water change about a week and a half ago. I also washed the filter in tank water. It did nothing, after a couple of days it was back to the same. I just want to get some fish in my tank. After 66 days I'm pulling my hair out.

Its deffinately the nitrite going from 5 to 0. Its blue, and the ammonia stays green longer.

Hi guys, got a bit of a strange one. I am near the end of a fishless cycle, i am on day 54. My nitrites are going from 5ppm to 0ppm in under 12 hours, but my ammonia is still taking between 24 and 48 hours to do the same. Does this sound right.

I have been doing my fishless cycle for 42 days now. My ammonia and nitrite are going from 5ppm to 0 in 48 hrs. My question is this, my nitrate is at a constant 40ppm. I thought it should have been a lot higher than that at this point in the cycle. Is this right . Thanks for any help.

Thats what i was thinking crazy, how could 2 filters be the same. I have stripped it right down and put it back together without getting any air in it. Its better but not silent. I can live with this amount of noise now though. I was thinking of an external filter, i have a 40 gal tank.

Day 20. Ammonia=0.25. Nitrite=5ppm Nitrate=40ppm. I have now re-dosed with ammonia, it is back up to 5ppm. My temp is 28" and P h is 7.6.

I started my fishless cycle 8 days ago and my ammonia level hasn't started 2 drop. I know this can be a slow process, i just wondered if the carbon pads in my u4 filter make any difference. Should i leave them in or take them out. Thanks.

Got back in touch with my seller and they said it sounds like a defective impeller shaft. They are going to send me some new parts monday. Great service.

Hiya James, do you have yours fully submerged or with the top just out of the water. If i fully submerge mine it goes quiet. Its just a bit of noise from the impeller, nothing too loud. I just wondered about the noise as this is my first tank.

Thanks Tom, its sounds like the lmpeller has a rattle. Its not too loud, i guess it must be how it is.

I have just set my tank up and turned the filter on. The filter is a bit noisy, is this common for this filter.

Well, my new tank arrived today. Its a Roma 200. Its looks very nice. Now the hard work begins getting it set up and cycled. Bought my ammonia today as well, Boots had it on the shelf.

Hi guys, i want to put a couple of pieces of dark granite in the bottom of my tank. I was just wondering about the weight. They are not that heavy and about 8" long by 5" wide. Is there a limit on weight in the bottom of the tank. Thanks for any info.

Is it better to use ammonia or this product when first setting up a tank and doing a fishless cycle. I called at a lfs and they said i didnt want to use ammonia, i should use this product. I thought i'd check with the experts on this forum.
