    Plecos and salt..

Adding a little salt to nurse another fish when a pleco, or any fish without scales, is going to harm the fish without scales, correct?

    Green Cloudy Water

I'm not what you call an expert on aquariums...but 26 fish in a 12 gallon tank is a little much no matter what the levels or nitrates and so on are? Can they even move? heh

    brown algae

It's not an eclipse tank. It's a normal tank with an Eclipse Hood. The filter is separte from the hood.

    Hey

Do any of you mods run an aquarium store in Michigan? If so, where? Just curious because I noticed a lot of the mods and some others are from Michigan.

    new stand

Get some REALLY beefy guys (On roids obviously) and move it :P. On a more serious note...is it even possible to move a tank that large with water in it without cracking the glass?

    brown algae

Trust me there is plenty of light. In my 20 gallon tank (which has the large amount of brown algae, but pleco seems to be cleaning some up) The tank is 30 inches long, so Im guessing the bulb is around that. The wattage isn't listed on it, but I'm sure it's enough considering it came with the...

    brown algae

Yes my tank is fairly new...roughly a month and a half old (give or take a week). I'm sure a "natural daylight" flourecent light that came with the Eclipse hood. Don't know the wattage. I'm not adding anything special to the tank. Could the excess food be the source for this algae? Should I...

    brown algae

My tank is starting to get a fairly large amount of brown algae (on everything and starting to grow on glass). Are there any safe chemicals I could get that would stop the growing for a while, or kill it? Could I just wash the decor off and whipe the glass or will it just return in a day or two?

    Bump on pleco

I just bought a pleco for my 20 gallon. When I got home I noticed a rather odd looking bump between his eyes, a tad bit below. What is this? Will it be the cause of his death soon? :(

    Strange substance

I have the same thing in my tank. I just cleaned the gravel but its still on the plants and rocks. Any word on if its harmful, or will a few catfish clean it up fine?

    Brownish color

I'm pretty sure this is algae...In the back of the tank and on some of the decorations some darkish stuff is forming up. I do a 25 percent water change regularly, so I dont think it's my water quality. Could it be that I'm fooding to much food? Again its brownish, almost rust like color.

    Why Cichlids???

Well, Oscars for one are very intelligent. They seem to know you're there. They don't just swim on by as if youre not there, like tetras would do. You can also teach them "tricks" such as the infamous ping pong ball trick. They will eventually, if trained/taught right, eat from your hand. I...

    Tiger Oscar

Yes my family is getting a 55 gallon in a few weeks. Also, I haven't seen it eat much or at all. I've tried to feed it cichlid pellets, tetramin flakes, and bloodworms. All the tetras in the tank usually go after the flakes and bloodworms before he even realizes they are in there, so that...

    Tiger Oscar

(warning : Im new) I've got a fairly new 20 gallon tank (month old) that has cycled. I've got 6 red eyed tetras that have been there since the start, just to start the tank for that matter. A few days ago I got a Tiger Oscar. It's only about 3 inches long right now. It's very shy. I...
