i put oak down in my house last summer but i have wood subfloors. i wouldnt put solid or even engineered stuff over concrete. just a bad idea all around. the wood wont be able to breathe with finish on top and concrete on bottom. nice looking wood you got though. crazy what people throw out...

no secret really. about 2 wpg, leave them on about ten hours a day. had an algae problem in one tank for a while but thats solved now. i dont have any method or reason, it just works :good:

i like when they hang all the way out of their shells and look around :P fun to watch them jump off the top of the tank too :D

whats a senegal? as far as females fighting, i think it just depends on the personality of the fish. i had more in there before but they died while i was away. i think the red ones are more aggressive usually but i dunno. my blue one is clearly the dominant one in there but they dont fight...

plants breath, when the water becomes saturated with a gas, that gas forms bubbles :)

yes they all do have long fins but unless they all have false ovipositors then they're females. though on one im not sure

yes a cycled tank is always better than uncycled but it wont kill one betta in a ten gallon. i've done it plenty of times and never had the slightest bit of a problem. if the other fish wont bother her put her in the 40. they dont have to breath at the surface i think, they do have gills

i'd throw her in the ten and get a filter on it sooner or later. an uncylced tank has got to be better than a cold cup of poop water. hikari is good food. its mostly all my fish will eat. i dont soak them just chunk em in there :P

probably no breeding for now at least. if Frank builds an especially special nest we shall see :hey:

its just bettas for now at least. been growing to hate that java moss lately. Just put that sand in the tank yesterday, been bare bottom for a few weeks now :/

it was about the size of two baseballs stuck together maybe. kinda pulled it apart a bit when i put it in there, but was that size in about ten minutes :blink: and yes all those plants are real :hyper:
