    29G Stocking

Hello, I got a 29G tank around end of November and I started a fish-in cycle with it. During the past week, there was some brown algae and a bit of milky water which I read is a sign of the cycle nearing it's end. The fish I currently have are 2 angelfish, and 6 male fancy guppies. They live...

Buying Fish For A Newly-Cycled Tank Today!

My 29 gallon tank just got cycled. I have three plants in there - one is pretty big, and the other two are pretty medium to small. In a few hours, im heading out to Big Al's because they're having huge sales on their fish. I was planning to buy a school of tank-raised cardinal tetras of around...

Getting A New Internal Filter, Which One?

So I got this new 29 Gallon aquarium kit from Tetra with "premium glass". The filter that came with it is an external, cheap plasticky Tetra Whisper EX Filter. I read some reviews about them, and to be honest, they weren't so great. I saw a few Fluval internal filters such as the Fluval U1, U2...

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

I woke up this morning today, sick, and I didn't go to school. I also discovered that the remaining two female guppies have passed away. RIP So, do I do a fishless cycle now, or?

So what, I need to do this for the next 4 weeks for just these two fish, and then when I want to add more, I have to wait another 4 weeks? Wow.

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

Someone in an earlier post, maybe you, told me that it's not possible to do a fishless cycle with my new tank, so do I just put in two females in there and change the water every day around 50 percent or just let it cycle for 3 - 4 weeks?

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

How often should I do a water change? I have a gravel cleaner (siphon) and I can use that with the two remaining female fish inside, can't I? Or I can just net the fish out to another container while im doing the water change, but I'd imagine this would cause the two remaining fish even more...

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

Well, were in the process of upgrading our fireplace to withstand the weight of the 29 gallon tank, adding a few boards and supports here and there. I'd imagine the aquarium be ready with water inside by late evening tonight, or tommorow afternoon eastern time.

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

Ok, I just checked the symptoms of the fish with the problem and he's just lying in a corner and I don't see his mouth moving. I think he died. He's upside down.

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

Thank you very much, I'll get to finishing setting up the aquarium immediately. This was a helpful post. The only question I have left is, will the fish floating down and swimming up fast heal or not?

Three Of My Fish Just Died And One Has A Buoyancy Problem?

I'll start off with the very beginning. I had to buy 4 guppy fish, two males and two females along with two mystery snails for an ecosystem that we were making in a jar along with an aquatic plant. We closed the pickle jar on top with a lid, and left it like that for two weeks, noting down the...
