    Diy Co2 Setup

got a little creative today to make a better way to disperse the CO2 bubbles. So i took apart one of my extra filters and snagged the motor form it. Ran the CO2 reactor line directly under the propellor so as the bubble comes out it gets brutally chopped up into tons of TINY little bubbles that...

Help - White Stuff Suddenly All Over Tank!

hmm.. a massive bacterial bloom is what i think.. observe your fish closely and watch for any problems from the white cloudiness. If all your parameters are in a decent range it should hopefully clear up soon. Also to answer the other guys response about removing half the media - im assuming...

    Fish Tank Help

If the food makes it to the bottom and poop, a filter wont really suck that up on its own. You will have to use a gravel vacuum to pick it up. Id suggest feeding less? Or get a bottom feeder fish (cory catfish) they work as a good cleanup crew and eat up things that sink to the bottom. Also...

    New 70 Gallon W/ Stand!

I want to make this tank look beautiful and heavily planted. As of now my ideas for my new fish to add will be some of the following: -Neon Tetras (decent sized school to add some really outstanding color against the green and brown) -Zebra Danios (decent sized school, i just love how active...

    New 70 Gallon W/ Stand!

No filter from him, instead I am using my mature filters from my 36 gallon tank. On my 36 gallon I used two HOB filters both rated for up to a 55 gallon tank ( i like to over filter rather than not have enough). So, i actually just transfered all the water/gravel and items from the 36 gallon...

    Tiny Green Flies

lol exactly, i am actually in the process of making my own "giant" breeder. I am going to get some sort of mesh or grated piece of plastic that i can fit into a 10 gallon tank that will sit about 1/3 from the bottom. This way i will have all my adults swimming and mating above and have them...

    Tiny Green Flies

that should keep them from laying eggs at the surface, but those guppies will definetly eat up anything that gets close lol
  21. T

    Tiny Green Flies

ya they must just be attracted to the still water, but no idea what it could be. probably harmless and if they do lay eggs you should put an active fish in there to gobble them up :D like a zebra danio/ platy/ guppy

Pregnant Mm Platy Waiting To Drop

One day of isolation shouldn't kill a healthy fish, i've had them in a little floater for up to a week before for many reasons (birth, healing nipped fins, etc). So i assume it could have been issues caused by the pregnancy or something completely different and she just so happened to be...

    Tiny Green Flies

not sure what they are, but the must like to breed on water. Is your water very still? they will easily be attracted to breed there then. At least that is experience i have with mosquitoes were i live. I have tanks in my garage for breeding and when i have fry in them and lower the filter...

First Attempt At Breeding The Blue Gourami

UPDATE! I didnt have any luck with the original female i had conditioned, i believe this is because she was bigger than the male I was using. So today I moved the big female back to my community tank and replaced her with a small female I have. Conditioning for her has begun today.

First Attempt At Breeding The Blue Gourami

thanks for being interested :D so far the male's colors are showing up really well(ready to mate) but the female doesn't seem to be exhibiting them very much. So ill just keep conditioning her until she is ready and im sure the colors will show. Also, does anyone know if you can cross breed...

usual rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. At this point i think your close to maximum capicity. BUT they should get along just fine. Neon tetras arent aggresive, and the others should just stick to themselves
