i have a couple of bathtubs spare. Purple spots and empires are found locally in my area so temps are fine. Not sure on size but its plenty big enough for a few just need to know will they fight?

with the purple spots would it be ok to keep a small group in a bathtub? Or will harrasment be an issue?

we have a rainwater tank which overflows everytime it rains so plenty of water for topping it up. Temps in summer 30-40c, 30c at the moment, yea its great living in aus. Will juck in my java moss and plenty of wood. Thanks guys.

i just setup a bathtub today for breeding swords for feeders. How many do you think i could have in an average bath tub and what hides to use for the fry?

the 2 saw shelleds and 2 kreffts will go into a pond but my mary river turtle will stay indoors, being a criticly endangered species i want to have it in a nice indoor setup, probably go for an 8ft eventually, they are a huge turtle.

its for a 100l tank so looking at 600-700L/H would it be worth making one or just buy one in this case?

just wondering if it is best to store nets in water? When i keep line dry they get dust and crap on them and dirties the water when i use them.

600-700 wouldnt be overkill would it? I will be upgrading so i would like it to handle a bit of a larger tank if need be

its nor swim bladder disease, have had that before so know what that is. Yes it has gone off its food. Will get hom to do some water changes. And i think it is cycled

just been talking to my dad on the phone and they have 2 angels but 1 isnt looking to good. It swims with its head facing more up then usual and also he said it looks a little bloated. It looks in good shape i.e. so fungus, rot, gill probs or wounds. any ideas?

i got a new 150watt aqua one heater yesterday, its in an 87litre tank. I have it set to 26c but it only got to 24c, i have turned it up to 30c to see what temp it will reach. Any ideas?

there arnt that many sp in aust but as far as i know there are no killi's on the list of banned imports so should be able to get most things in.

mate, where are you looking lol, every good fish store should stock rainbows and gudgeons and alot these days stock larger natives such as cod, grunter, perch etc, i got mine for $5.50 from my local lfs, just ask then should be able to get some in for you...

its time to buy more food from my barcoo. I have been feeding him bait prawns but would like to try something different. Should i just use dried pellets or would fresh meat like beef heart or liver be better?

no, they are not ghost crabs, they are like the little red claw crabs that are somtimes available. I'll try and get photos. John

unfortunatly, aus is the only continent where killi's are not found so i dont get them in my brackish creek, there is a prt further down where i think i would get archer fish tho. John

at my local brckish creek there are plenty of crabs, i was wondering if they could be kept in freshwater. john

there is a place in south australia that captive breeds seahorses and they are ment to be quite easy to keep and also quite cheap. they used 2 have them at the local petstore for $30. With the clownfish i just want a 2-3ft tank with a few inverts. john
