Keep the hoses as short as you can to try and avoid air getting trapped... I've moved one of ours and left the hoses at full length, it's currently say next to the tank and I keep getting air building up in the canister.

Hi Guys... Martin (Smart) has sold all the young... He's pretty sure they have mated again so its just a waiting game to see how they get on. He has picked up a 5ft tank for them and is planning on having a dedicated setup for breeding them :-)

there are inline taps on most external filters - you just partially close them ;-) This has sold by the way.

All made it home ok. Settling in their own tank at the moment. Will post up a picture when the join the rest of ours

had a better fiddle earlier... the 1.5 bar fixed limit is with the needle valve fully open. If you turn the bubble rate down the supply pressure is a lot higher. With a bubble rate of approx 60 per min it holds the pressure at about 3.4bar. and even if you need to go a lot highter its still...

Good news... It fits straight onto a fire extinguisher. And having opened the tank, the dials show 2bar on the regulated side. Picture attached.

Hi, Yep - its still available. I've not used it on a fire extinguisher, but after doing a bit of reading, aquamedic says "fits industry standard CO2 cylinders" and a bit more reading says that fire extinguishers use a standard thread size. I'll double check tonight as I use a fire...

They are still holding... (they are mouth brooders) They guarded the eggs for 2 days and then gathered them up and have been holding them since... Keeping an eye, but I don't think we will get fry as the tank has too many fish that will eat them despite the adults trying to defend them...

The bacteria in your existing filter has grown to deal with the waste produced by the fish in the tank... If you move the filter media to a different tank, it is still established enough to deal with the original bio load. So as soon as you move it it is able to deal with the same waste...

Fishyjake has nailed it... Unlikely to be an L059 just as they are as rare as rocking horse poop... Might just be a common BN with a colour tint. We had one that started out orangy like this but it grew up normally. On closer look... It's the wrong shape for a common. I'd go with Ancistrus...

its a whole lot of effort.... took 4 of us just to lift our tank into place... its not moving again :) I did think about using a radiator roller... but having just wallpapered the wall behind it - i didnt want to risk getting it on the walls. Board it is.

When I started I wasnt sure what to use... unded up using a brush... after 2/3 coats the coverage looks flawless looking through the tank... looking from the back there are loads of brush marks but your not looking at that side :) as long as the glass is clean before you start, and you give it...

even with just 3 sides, it "shouldnt" be able to go anywhere. I quite like the layout of the space... The hidden corners that will be created when the tanks go in will give you places to hide wires etc... should look good withthe tanks in.

yep - I managed to wriggle my bio balls about a bit and get it in one of the externals.
