    Looking For Woodcats

Sorry, I just saw your response. Do you currently have any available? If so, how much are you asking? Thank you! Adam

    My New Plec

Nice buy! I don't care to personally own albino fish of any sort, but that is a nice one! Odd. At any moment, I can see the majority of my BNs when I take a look. They don't hide when I come up to the tank, either.

Beautiful hoplo. I believe their max length is 8".

    Bubble Bee Cat?

It appears to be one of the South American bumblebee cat species (there is also an Asian and African variety). None of the SA species get large and are peaceful with tankmates. I have been keeping these little guys for awhile now and they are a joy (when I see them, lol - they are hiders until...

    Plecs For 60 Litre

For BNs? Algae discs and veggies (such as zucchini) will pretty much take care of them. If you are asking about otos, I have no clue.

Should I Get A Clown Pleco?

My clowns have never bothered any of their tankmates, which are all catfishes or plec types.

    Plecs For 60 Litre

I think pitbulls would be the way to go. Maybe one BN.

How Many Bristlenose Do You Own !commons Or

6 common BNs (2 definite males) and 1 calico BN (male). The calico is really nice-looking. Will see if I can get a good picture soon.

Sand To Put In A 29

I would start with about 30lbs of sand and go from there. I personally don't like to put a lot of substrate in tanks, so that is the route I would take.

    Golden Nugget Plec

This should help: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/speci...?species_id=153 Just keep in mind that there are several other "GN" species. For example, http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/speci...?species_id=154 But I think the L18 is the most common. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

How Many Tanks Do You Have?

55 gallon bottom-dwelling "community" 37 gallon South American catfishes and plecos 5 gallon hillstream loach tank (cycling) and a 10 gallon Halloween crab setup. Yup, the apartment is turning into a pet store.

    New Pleco!

Very nice fish! Keep on offering a variety of foods and eventually he will eat. Of course, he may be nibbling when it's dark.

    My thoughts exactly.

    Raphael Catfish Tankmates

The raphael should be fine in there. However, if those clown loaches grow anywhere near as large as they can, your tank will be far too crowded. They can reach up to 18" each...

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

So, I got my first fish delivery today. I was doubtful about how it would go, but it was a positive experience, so it will happen again. A few pics of some fish that I have been searching for for awhile... Cent. perugiae :D

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

You're right. They are skunk corys. I always wanted the pandas but ended up with these guys instead. I love 'em, but still tend to project the other name on them on accident.

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

I just realized that this thread encompasses all catfish/bottom dwellers. Some of my others: hillstream loach: banjos: my 4 panda corys on move-in day: SA bumblebees: striped raphael: spotted raphael and my little eclipse/sun cat: and my pride and joy, my ~8 in. eclipse/sun cat...

Definitely common BNs. It looks almost exactly like the guys I have been buying lately. Enjoy this fun fish!

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

Okay.... does it look like damage to you? Illness? Or simple stress coloration, as I suspect? Not trying to be a jerk, but your observation is next to useless unless you elaborate.

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

Are you referring to the 3rd BN down, the close-up? If so, I think that is stress coloration. He looks great now that he is settled in.

What Bottom Dwellers Plec's & Catfish ? Do You Own !

I don't have nearly as many (or as nice) plecos as some others, but here they are: My L-201: (with one of his SA bumblebee tankmates) My clown (just got it yesterday!) I have a total of 8 BNs between my two tanks. Some shots: (nighttime feeding on some zucchini) Keep them coming...

    Looking For Woodcats

Hello, folks! I am currently looking for a small school (about 6 fish) of woodcats, preferably Oil/Honeycomb catfish (Tatia perugiae or Centromochlus perugiae). If anyone knows of any at a reasonable price or has any that they are interested in selling, please let me know. I am located in NE...

    Tiger Barbs In A 75g?

You are right in planning on upgrading the tank. I disagree with the above poster that a 75 g tank will provide adequate space for 4 clown loaches and 10-20 tiger barbs. The loaches alone can reach 16-18" and since they are in a group, a 75 will not be enough eventually. I've included a link...

    Disputed Pleco Id, Any Help?

$30. I almost didn't do it, but knew that I would not find a better deal on "exotic" plecos in my area. In the end, I'm very happy that I dropped that cash for him. :hyper:

Fishelss Cycling 1 Day In Amonia Almost Down To 0

It sounds to me, good sir, that you are ready to roll. Of course, I am sure that you plan on starting with just a few fish and working your way up to whatever you want your "full" stock to be. Keep us posted!

    Disputed Pleco Id, Any Help?

Thanks, I checked the 201 out again and the pics of those bear the most resemblance to my pleco. Mine is still small (about 2") so the distinguishing features may still be forthcoming. Your BN might be ugly, but my little guy isn't ugly, lol. As for buying him small, I wanted a fairly...

    Disputed Pleco Id, Any Help?

Hello, folks. There seem to be quite a few knowledgeable people prowling the pleco board, so I figured I would see if you could help me figure out what this pleco might be. It was sold as a 136b snowball pleco, but someone on another board said that it is not but was not able to provide me...

Fishelss Cycling 1 Day In Amonia Almost Down To 0

I would run the tests for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate after adding ammonia one more time. I would err on the safe side, but it sounds like you did something similar to what I recently did - vastly cut down on cycling time by using "old" filter media. Keep us posted.

    Giving Fish Away...

Hello, folks. I haven't been around here (or any other fish forums) very long, but they have taught me much even though I have been in the hobby for awhile. One thing that I learned was that my pair of 5-6" Columbian sharks/catfish (aka black-finned sharks, etc.) would not only grow huge, but...

    Yet Another Death ...

Sorry to hear about your troubles. From what I read, the folks that are pointing to the polystyrene background are probably right. The plastic tank backgrounds that I tape to the back of the tank aren't exactly fulfilling, but they are better than plain wall and I know they won't harm my fish.
