If they look like this or this then you have a dyed fish. I would keep it and try to make it's life as happy as possible before it dies. After all, it is not the fishes fault that they are dyed.

Mine does that when I need to either change the media, or give it a good washing in tank water.

Thsi is Henry, poor boys 9 and has terrible arthiritus, but he's still a doll.

What keeps me going is an attempt to recreate an environment, something inpossible for most other pets. Also, it is my Corys, they are to fun and cute to stop buying more and more tanks for them.

He si adorable, and looks like he was having lots of fun.

I think you should keep the old one in their, you can never have enough filtration.

I think that you won't be able to use an undergravel filter with sand.(Not sure) :/ Edit-=sorry you said black gravel. I don't know a lot about UGravelm filters, but I think that all your biological filtration i.e bacteria is in your gravel, so changing it would make a difference.
