Has she got rounder since you've had her ? or is she about the same. Female embers are naturally more rounded that the males which are thinner annd more stream lined. It could be that you just have a pair and that she's not actually pregnant.

Discovery Aquatics in Dundee is a good shop and might be able to order in what you want. Doesn't sell on line but it's less than 60 miles from Banchory if your willing to travel.

Put in a few coconut shell caves as they like to lay their eggs inside these. Put them at oppisite ends of the tank. This will give the females different territories and the male can go between the females and hopefully do the business.

I wouldnt as the get very territorial when breeding and their would probably be casualties especially in such a small tank.

They are different though don't know if they all are. Some female species are very similar to other female species though, especially when not in breeding condition.

What i'm suggesting might not work for you but it costs nothing and is worth a try and you will find out in three days. If it works great but if not then try one of the other suggestions. Let us know how you get on.

I asked a similar question on a Rainbow forum when i was starting with rainbows. I was advised to keep Furcata and Dwarf Neon's together as these are more boisterous and to keep Threadfin's with Gertrudae. I have A.Cacatuoides fry around eight weeks and A macmasteri fry around five weeks, when is it possible to sex these. Noticed that some of the Cacatuoides fry are getting reddish tinges on the fins and some are noticably larger, would these likely be the males, Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have sixteen tanks in my recently built fish hut. Ten stocked at the moment, another four will be in the next fortnight, the other two will be for fry from the other tanks or something else that takes my fancy in the near future.

I just bought a pair of Apistogramma sp Apache, (That's what it said on the tank)and i want to put some Panda Corys with them, Would the pandas be okay or should i put in a bigger species of Cory. The tank is three foot long, Thanks, Alan.

I boil mine to get the tannin out of the shells. Some have been in the same tanks for nearly three years and are still as good as when i put them in. Just need a clean now and again to get little bits of algae off.

Thanks everyone. I only put extra wood on the floor to strenghthen it. I have put plastic sheeting between the insulation material and the inner wall. All tanks have glass lids with the only gap being a small cut off corner to let the airline through to the filter sponge. No just the wood then...

It was Kitchen?Bathroom paint out of Homebase. It is a wooden base raised off the ground and sitting on concrete slabs.

It's an 8 foot by 6 foot apex roofed wooden shed. I insulated it with similar stuff that you use in a loft, then boxed it in with plywood. I then used masking tape on the joins on the walls and floor and then painted with anti moisture/mould paint. The floor is cushioned flooring.
