A 17 gallon is AWESOME for a betta! Maybe a nice planted with some snails as said above. He/she will think that he/she is in heaven! lol

Yes they are pregnant. How long have they been having the black patch? If it is very black and big, and also if the black patch is right under and right where the pooping area is then it is very close to due date. Also look for the signs about the two fish, if they are both away from the other...

Yeah put in some plants in their for the babies. But she won't eat them until after about 7, 8, or 9 hours.

Take out the male when the fry are swimming.If the temp is 82 Degrees then they should be swimming about 5 days after. Feed them a day after they are swimming so they can fully eat their egg yolks.

How old are they? and how many are there?

I think they would be perfectly fine. Female bettas are not aggressive to other fish, unless she sees a male betta. I think you can maybe get 3 or 4 female bettas in there if you want to. But always remember the 1 gallon per inch of fish.

No she doesn't have anymore fry in her, I'm sure. Female platys when they get pregnant they never go thin again, And they'll have they're gravid spot even though they're not pregnant. Mine is like that and she gave birth about 2 weeks ago. It's very normal. Hope this helped

Are you sure you have males and females? And what is the temperature?

Well I do it homemade.I use 1 quart plastic casserole dish. I put like 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt, with water. I put the airstone in the very corner, let it set for 24 hours then I put a flash light next to it for about 5 or 10 min till they hatch. Or do you think I'm not putting enough baby...
