I have 6 day old fry, and right now I'm feeding them finely crushed flake food in small portions about 2 or 3 times a day. Well what I would like to know what else can I feed them that will make them grow rapid. Other than baby brine shrimp and bbs. Thanks

To be honest if ur feeding BBS then their's nothing else u need. This is the best food u can feed.

I feed tetra pro crushed up also they love white and grindle worms.

Well I am not feeding them bbs. I have baby brine shrimp, But I cant get them to even look at the baby brine shrimp. Lol

^ Agreed! What you're feeding them is just fine! :)

Okay thanks

Sorry not wanting to make u sound silly but ur hatching it correctly?
They should gourge on the moving shrimp, it's a nateral instanct to eat these small foods for them as in the wild they never know when they will find the next food.

Well I do it homemade.I use 1 quart plastic casserole dish. I put like 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt, with water. I put the airstone in the very corner, let it set for 24 hours then I put a flash light next to it for about 5 or 10 min till they hatch. Or do you think I'm not putting enough baby brine shrimp in the tank for them to eat it?

You would be way better off with a San Fransisco Bay Brand Shrimp Hatchery, they are like 10 dollars. I had one and very useful. Why dont you just buy frozen? I do, alot easier, and better for the fish.

When you collect the bbs, sweetheart, you do it by shining a light into the growing tank. The bbs will collect in the light and you just net them with a fine net. If you indiscriminately remove floating things from the medium instead of using the light, you will get mostly empty egg shells and your fry won't be very interested at all. As far as the kit approach, if you don't feel comfortable with your setup, you could try it. At least it will come with instructions on how to use it. I don't think the bbs care what container they are born in, they grow the same anywhere.

No, they dont care, but the Kit comes with the right amount of eggs an dsalt, and it has a thing on the top that the fry swim into from the light in the room and they are automatically switched to freshwater, and then you just take the container and dump it into the tank. Way eaier, but even easier is frozen
