Big Blue (Gorgeous blue female) looks ready to drop her fry. have put her in the fry net as the other fish were bothering her.

what is the best things to put in with her and to feed her? i've heard lettuce leaves are good?

at the moment she has some long moss in there with her. but what else would be good for her?

thanks

*expectant mammy* xx

Just try to put a bit of cover in it, not for her but for the fry as she will eat them.

Just feed her as normal.... especially after she drops give her plenty of food, she will be very hungry

Once she drops, take her out..

Feed the fry crushed flake, crushed pellets, crushed protein foods, baby brine shrimp if you can get hold of any...

hi this is rob les's other half i read that you should put lettuce leaves in with her is this true?

thanks rob.

Yeah put in some plants in their for the babies. But she won't eat them until after about 7, 8, or 9 hours.

You talking about her not eating the fry?

She will eat them straight away as she will be very hungry after giving birth and what fits in the mouth is food

It depends on the fish of course, some do eat them straight away, some don't.

Supposedly some have a mechanism which stops them eating the fry for a period of time, but personally I reckon that is a load of tosh and it is best to assume that they will be a threat to the fry until demonstrated otherwise.
