Lush Niger, what size is he? I have a 27" one in with my L.Pictus in my 8x2x2 tank. Again mine was rescued from a pet shop in a way smaller tank!!! im currently saving for wider tank but at least he can move about more in my tank. great fish. T

Well today theyve been swimming around together and lyeing side by side so im hopeing they will be ok but im sure your right so will keep a close eye on them.

tank is 8 x 2 x 2 and will be upgraded to 8 x 3 x 2 within 6 Months. Tank mates are as follows 20" Leiarius Pictus 24" Psuedodoras Niger or African Catfish? 12" this new one :) thats it, other tank is 6 x 2 x 2 and houses a 22" Red Snakehead

thanks everyone. Hey Paul, good to see your still here mate. Looking at the two suggestions on google and pics the fish looks really more like the Perrunichthys Perruno although I could be wrong. Are these fish expensive is that why you thought it could be the other fish?

Can anyone ID this fish, was being given away FOC at local fish shop. Hes about 12" long, seems abit similar to my Leiarius Pictus but not sure. thanks

Heres my two tanks, the 8x2x2 in the living room And the 6x2x2 in the dining room. Trying to negotiate getting rid of one and buying a 8x 3 x 2 tank, but gotta put a lot of work in for that one, although valentines days coming up..... :)

I prefer key meter as it saves getting massive bills which you have to try and find x amount for at least I know where I am with one and too be honest dont find it any cheaper or more expensive than the normal billing methods other than direct debit is usually a few quid cheaper.

We have a key meter, easier to pay than big monthly/quarterly bills and it works out about £15 per week with a 6x2x2 and 8x2x2 tank and computer on all the time. Were with Southern Electric if thats relevant. nice too see you still here Paul. thanks T

All of a sudden my Silver Arowana seems to want to attack, eat or kill everything in its tank. Its approx 16" and shares its home with learius pictus, lungfish, leaf fish, lima shovelnoses and a few other little fish. Hes been fine with them in the 8 x 2 x 2 tank for must be a good 6 months or...

ok tried the scraper idea and that took the top surface off so now its all flat but its got like a water mark all over it now. Ive tried vinegar but that doesnt seem to have made any difference, are we talking about normal fish and chip vinegar (urghhmmmmm chips :drool: )or different vinegar...

Ok Well the Arowana now seems fine, apart from his eye, hes swimming about happily, hes eating normally and doesnt seem to be in any pain. I will just leave him and hope his eye will pop back in one day.

He doesnt seem to be bothered by it at all, he doesnt seem to be in pain and is still using it as normal and can see out of it so it still works just doesnt seem to be in the right place. Ive phoned a few vets and none around here do fish.

Chris I had a 6 x 2 x 2 tank up and am on an electric key meter so have to top up electric everyweek with about £9 but I have since also got a 8 x 2 x 2 tank and noticed that every week we are having to put approx £16 in the electric so alot is the fish tanks i think you will find :(
