    Help With Sexing Dwarf Gourami

Check the dorsal fin. If it is pointed, it will be male. If not, then it is, female. But judging from the coloration, I agree with the others that it looks like a female.

Giant Gourami For An 8x2x2 Tank?

I agree, a giant Gourami and Pleco combo would be fantastic... Something like a Sailfin Gibbiceps Pleco would be great, or even the bit smaller Trinidad Plec. Some Kissing Gourami might be nice too...

    Gourami Vs Betta

I don't know much about Bettas, but do know about Wikipedia. Wouldn't neccessarily use it as the be-all and end-all of research - anyone can post anything up on that site! Basically, I could edit it to say Gourami's are members of the Camelid family... It would stay there until someone else...

    My New Honey Gourami

Beautiful and well-tempered fish. A very good choice of Gourami! Also like you choice of Plec's too!

    Tankmates For Dwarf Gouamis

Or White Cloud Minnows... They also get on well with my Plec's too.

    Dwarf Gourami Numbers

Actually yeah... going by the 1 inch for every gallon of a tank ruling, 30L converts to about 6.6 gallons. Really, your tank is way too small for any ammount of Gourami. The Rainbow, Powder Blue, Red or Neon Blue Gourami's need at least a 15 gallon tank; and even the Honey Dwarf needs a minimum...

    Dwarf Gourami Numbers

I agree with Dan. I have 2M's and they, mostly, get on fine - barring a couple of instances...

    Wanting To Get Gourami's

The male is generally quite considerably more colourful than the female. The female is usually a paler, less vibrant version of the male. The pointed dorsal fin is probably the safest way of sexing - it can be quite obvious. Good luck with your Gourami!

    Wanting To Get Gourami's

Don't know much about Flagfish, but from what I read, they sound quite dosile? If you're wanting a Gourami that is less aggressive, i'd recommend a Honey Dwarf Gourami. The minimum tank they should be kept in is around 10 Gallons, so your tank should be fine. They're also happy enough as...

    Gourami's

Ther is no reason why you shouldn't have Guppies or Mollies in the same community as Gourami's. Both are good community fish.

    Honey Gourami And Aggression

Gourami's, no matter what species, can be quite aggressive. The Honey's are among the most dosile, but, as with most fish, each have their own personality. I have 3 Gourami's - 2 Dwarf Rainbows and a Dwarf Honey - and one of my Rainbow's is quite aggressive, whilst the other two are very dosile...

    Gourami With Split Tentacle... Help!

Hey, I am new to this forum, and have registered because I noticed today that one of my two male Dwarf Gourami's has split a decent ammount of one of his tentacles. He seems happy enough, but I was just wondering if anyone else had experiece/knowledge of this happening, and what the cause could...
