What about the cardinals? What will they take because they dont go to the surface either..

I have 2 Blue Rams and 5 Cardinal Tetra and none of them come to the surface for flake. Why is this? When it gets soggy and sinks they eat it, but they never seem bothered or even attempt to go and eat when its floating on the surface. The frozen brine shrimp cubes just drop in and spreads...

Will do soon. At the moment the bigger one chases and is lip locking with the smaller one. The smaller one has bright sparkly blue spots near his/her face and the bigger one has a longer/spikier dorsal fin. Are they male/female from what I'm saying and do males and females fight/chase/lip lock?

Went with 2 Blue Rams, 1 male, 1 female and some Cardinal Tetra. Should be good as the tetra were already in the tank with the rams :)

Anyone else?

And some small tetras would be okay with 2 rams and 2 cockatoo cichlids right?

90Litre Fluval Roma

Ok, getting my fish tomorrow, is this a good stocking and are they all compatible? 2 x Blue Rams 2 x Kribensis 7 x Purple Emporer Tetra 5 x Cardinal Tetra some shirmp or some sort too. Is this overstocked or understocked and will they all be compatible? Thanks!

Ok, my tank is now processing ammonia and nitrites within 10 hours..I'm getting my fish tomorrow, so when should I do the water change, and is 75-90% really the best amount? I have a 90litre Fluval Roma :)

Just realised theres bright green algae growing on my ocean rock, looks like a bit of brown fluffy type algae too. Is this a good sign?

Basically the Ammonia in my tank is being processed really fast now. But the Nitrites aren't at all. Am I meant to do a water change or not? I'm on about the 3rd week in now, 90litre Fluval Roma tank.

Okayy.. Well its a fishless cycle as the title suggests, 90litre tank, on about day 20, the ammonia is already processing overnight...etc..

Okay, I now seem to be adding Ammonia every morning, so I guess its working? Anything I need to look out for now? Or just wait for the Nitrites to drop, should I lower the amount of Ammonia?

Measuring with Tetra test. Ive tested water from my tap and tank, the carbonate in tap water is on the chart, ph is still 8. RO? Whats that?

Deicided to have some Guppies, Tetras and something else in my 20gallon. Something farily large, but that wont cause trouble between them and the guppies and tetras?

I've got some Nutrafin Cycle, is it a good idea or beneficial to add this whilst im doing my fishless cycle to lower the ammonia and add bacteria or not?

Cheers. Appears the LFS didn't actually sell me Ammonia and instead sold me a Tetratest Ammonia Test Kit and a Tetratest Kit.. Ive got a bottle of Nutrafin Cycle..will this substitute for Ammonia or not?

Okay..What I've done so far, is set up the tank, with the heater and filter and added the Aqua plus. Only problem is, on my filter (Fluval 2 plus) there seems to a cap at the top which makes the water coming out bubble or not bubble, whats best and why? I've put the heater next to the filter at...

Okay, took all your advice and ended up getting the Fluval Roma 90litre. So thats just under 20 gallons..looks well built and the LFS said the filters were better than the Tetras. Overall it just looks really nice and is a good dimension. They only had test strips, but that should be okay, LFS...

Ok anything else? Obviously I'll need water test kits and stuff yeah?

Okay, I'm going out to buy the aquarium tomorrow..no fish obviously. Any tips on things to look for? Looking for a 10gallon miniumum, hopefully all inclusive with the pump, heater etc.. any other things I need to look out for?

After doing a bit of research I've decided on A few Cardinal Tetra's A few Harlequin Rasbora's and a Flying Fox or shark of some sort? These good choices? Will the Flying Fox be aggressive towards the tetra's and rasbora's?

Not to keen on the Bettas, they're very pretty, but I'd want more than one fish.

What else is compatible with Danios? Something of a large tetra kinda shape/size?
