I've been raising 4 Molly fry in a breeding trap in my 72G. They've been there for 3 weeks and they've grown at a nice rate. Almost time to release them. It also makes it SO much easier feeding them liquid food when they are still small.

+1. They are one of the fish that really enjoy being in groups. Ideally they should also have a long tank because of their swimming habits. I used to have six in a 4 foot tank.

I have two Sunburst Mickey Mouse Platies. They were my first fish. The last ones I really liked were all white with a black Mickey Mouse. The wife thought they were boring looking and lacking enough color though.

You really just need to look some up and call. There are several variables in shipping costs. Some of the primary ones are weight, distance, method of shipment (standard, 2 day, overnight, etc) and dimensions. Without knowing these it's impossible to know how much it might even cost.

Scrubbing is fine for removing bark and whatever is growing on the outside. However, it won't kill any potentially dangerous living thing inside the wood. Boiling helps neutralize most living material throughout the wood.

Those are good looking. I wish I could find nice Platys to add to my group. The only stores that carry various Platys around here have Ich in each of their tanks. The better stores are disease free but don't carry Platys.

My female would bully my male and for the most part, kept him on one side of the tank. I finally had enough and took her back to the store. I kept the male for two reasons. He was more beautiful and he never bothered any of the other fish.

I have Harlequins and Zebras. They don't just sit in one place, but aren't quite as active as the Danios. So somewhere between the two leaning more to the Zebras. I can't answer your second question.

I use the API Freshwater Master test kit. Liquid kit that tests Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, High range ph and Low range ph. Testing Nitrates takes a little more time though.

I have Mopani wood and my water is crystal clear when I use carbon in at least one of the filters. During my Ich treatment I removed the carbon. After 12 days the water was a slight tea color. Carbon went back in and the water was clear the next day. I liked the look though.
