3 In 1 Breeding Trap - Oh My God

I've been raising 4 Molly fry in a breeding trap in my 72G. They've been there for 3 weeks and they've grown at a nice rate. Almost time to release them. It also makes it SO much easier feeding them liquid food when they are still small.

Zebra Danios- Can I Keep Them In Here?

+1. They are one of the fish that really enjoy being in groups. Ideally they should also have a long tank because of their swimming habits. I used to have six in a 4 foot tank.

    Mickey Mouse Platies

I have two Sunburst Mickey Mouse Platies. They were my first fish. The last ones I really liked were all white with a black Mickey Mouse. The wife thought they were boring looking and lacking enough color though.

How Do You Keep Your Tanks Cool In This Weather?

I have my tank in my house. My house a/c is set for 77 F. Water temp sits around 77/78. So I keep my tank cool by keeping myself cool - Air conditioning.

    Grrrr

Honestly, almost everything is going to be either saltwater or brackish fishing. If you want to find some lakes, try Google maps. Type in St Petersburg FL. Then zoom in/out and look around for larger bodies of water. I did a quick search and saw Lake Maggiore. Lake Seminole is a little north of...

    Grrrr

I live in the St. Pete area and I've never heard of any bodies of water with Platies or Mollies. Cichlids have been appearing because they seem to adapt to anything. It's a problem where people decide to just dump the fish from their aquariums they don't want. The fish manage to survive and it...

Temp sits around 78. Current stocking: 1 zebra danio (The only one I couldn't catch when getting rid of my Danios) 1 male guppy 2 female guppies 3 female gold dust mollies 4 molly fry 3 male platies (various) 6 female platies (one is a small ex-feeder) 9 harlequin rasboras 2 ghost shrimp I...

    Sand Substrate

Depending on what kind of gravel you want, I purchased mine at a local home improvement store. It was $3 for a 35 pound bag.

    Shipping

You really just need to look some up and call. There are several variables in shipping costs. Some of the primary ones are weight, distance, method of shipment (standard, 2 day, overnight, etc) and dimensions. Without knowing these it's impossible to know how much it might even cost.

Cories Best Suited For My Tank?

I've decided to try my hand at Cories again. I unsuccessfully tried to keep a Panda (rescue attempt), and two Albino Cories, who died of unknown causes. I kept a small, unknown Cory for over a month, but he mysteriously vanished while I was away for a week. My tank is a 72 gallon bow front...

    Driftwood From Lakes

Scrubbing is fine for removing bark and whatever is growing on the outside. However, it won't kill any potentially dangerous living thing inside the wood. Boiling helps neutralize most living material throughout the wood.

    How Close Am I?

Thanks a lot for the reply. The fry are separate in a breeding box until they reach a size large enought to hold their own. I'll probably be selling the Mollies though. I'm really into the idea of some Kuhli Loaches. I tried keeping cories once before. I bought an unknown and a Panda because...

    Ghost Shrimp

I have a well planted 72 gallon with gravel substrate. I decided to buy some Ghost Shrimp on a whim. They were 12 feeders for $1.00. After two months I still have two left. They were the biggest of the group. They survive off whatever food falls to the bottom. Every once in a while I'll drop a...

What Do You Think Of This Statement?

    Guppy

I have guppies and when I had an Ich outbreak I treated for it with QuICK Cure. After 12 days of treatment I had lost one male guppy but a couple fry had been born during the treatment period. I don't know if that helps though.

    How Close Am I?

Sorry I don't have the dimensions. It's a 72 gallon bow front. Fake plants (well planted), gravel substrate. Filtration is a Rena XP 2 cannister and an Aqua Clear 110 HOB. Spinning Gourami

My Gold Gourami acted similarly before he died. He was weak and would easily get stuck to the filter intakes. Whenever he got too close to a current in the tank he could not control himself and would roll and spin around. He was so weak he couldn't control his swimming or even stabilize. Mine...

    Flicking!

I had a Platy doing the same thing. He did this for a week or so. Then he started clamping his fins and sitting in the gravel. Within a few days, and a closer look, I noticed several fish had Ich. That's my experience with flicking fish.

    Golden Gourami Keeps Getting Stuck

My Gold Gourami has been doing well since I got him a couple months ago. However, the other day I found him wrapped around the intake tube of my Rena XP2. I unplugged the filter and he swam away. Not Normally A Platy Lover But......

Those are good looking. I wish I could find nice Platys to add to my group. The only stores that carry various Platys around here have Ich in each of their tanks. The better stores are disease free but don't carry Platys.

    Aggressive Gouramis

My female would bully my male and for the most part, kept him on one side of the tank. I finally had enough and took her back to the store. I kept the male for two reasons. He was more beautiful and he never bothered any of the other fish.

    Galaxy/harlequin Rasboras

    Thoughts On New Tank Buddies

Thanks for the replies. I have one female guppy and I can't distinguish between the two fry/juveniles yet. The platies are 2 males and 3 females. Thoughts On New Tank Buddies

I currently have 3 Sunburst mickey mouse platys, 2 Gold twin bar platys, 4 Zebra danios (1 either died of unknown causes, or got too close to filter intake and got stuck), 1 female guppy, 2 juvenile guppys, 1 Emerald green cory, and 2 Albino cories. The tank is a well planted 72G bow front with...

    How To Clear The Water?

I have Mopani wood and my water is crystal clear when I use carbon in at least one of the filters. During my Ich treatment I removed the carbon. After 12 days the water was a slight tea color. Carbon went back in and the water was clear the next day. I liked the look though.
