I was wondering would a 280 gallon tank be easier to care for if it were fresh or salt water?? Or does the fish your keeping make all the difference. I realize the large volume of water will stay clean longer because there's more to 'dirty up' if you have smaller fish in comparison to the tank...

I am interested in getting one of these; African Butterfly Fish. Is it true they 'need' a 'very' calm surface to dwell under? I have a power canister filter but there's still about 30% of the surface of my tank which has a calm surface. Is that ok? Would adjusting the output downward in the tank...

Ahh yes, the filtration. Its a Fluval 405 powered canister filter. Rated for tanks up to 100 gallons, mine which is 75 gallons.

would a pirana cooperate with a 14 inch standard pleco?? i have seen them kept together in a large tank at a pet store. but, not taking the chance at home.
