i have a varied community where everyone gets on !! i have 2 banded gara flavatra, a black ghost knife fish, green severum, very large angel, 3 spot and red indian gourami, hoplo cats, pimpictus, choclate talking catfish, royal plec, various cory doras, bolivian rams, blue acara and a few more.

tbh i think its only a matter of time. :( pity as he was one of my favourites too.

no, the only other tanks i have, have either malawis or betta splendens looks like dropsy to me, and i have nowhere to put him away from other fish

over the last 2 days my keyhole has swollen a lot and is now sitting on the bottom of the tank and the other fish are circling it. what can i do to help before it dies as he is a very likable fish. his breathing is very laboured also

so far over half have gone, a bit depressing but can't be helped.

i currently use tetra pro colour which they all seem to like. i don't have another tank to put them in, plus getting them out would be really difficult as there are so many plants and rocks etc to hide in / on / under.

just got home to find that i now have around 50 kribensis babies being herded round the tank by the big male. the thing i need to know is should i remove them or not as the tank they are in is a community with a wide variety of fish including green severum, large angel, texas cichlid, various...

I bought a home made diamond shaped tank as a temporary standin until i buy a proper replacement for my juwel rekord 70 tank which started leaking really badly one day. anyhoo, the tank i bought is as mentioned diamond shaped which is giving me some trouble as i'm trying to figure out its litre...

i have a juwel vision 250 and we bought a tetratec EX1200 and all i can say is ......... IT'S AMAZINGLY GOOD, BEST THING I'VE BOUGHT AND I WOULD HONESTLY RECOMMEND THEM. when doing a change of the water and cleaning the gravel it takes around 30 mins for the water to become crystal clear again...

my own pleco is around 12" long but lots wider, better fed as you say. oh well time to get him some treats.

i've been in some stores where every tank has 2 or 3 dead and rotting fish, however my most local one is very good and i shop there often as well as my other choice suppliers.

checked the water with liquid test kit and strips, all levels are good, slightly elevated ammonia but only just above normal.

right the carbon removal and white spot treatment was done at 3am this morning, a 50% water change was done as well, by 7 am he seemed really happy and active again. now at 10:30am he is back in the same corner again, not moving, however the colour has returned to him.

i'm having similar probs with my udc, but my tank is 250 ltrs in size so that cant be the reason.

i see, it was just that my filter has a few layers of carbon in it.

i use a tetratec ex1200 filter, do i need to remove ALL the carbon from it ?

will it be harmful to the two baby mollys we have in the tank (in a small baby tank)

tbh i think the fish died off because of stress due to an aggressive gourami. as i mentioned before, these appeared AFTER i removed the fish from the tank and also turned off the pump and aerators

i think you may be right. good job we are finished with that tank now i suppose.

we had 2 fish die in one of our tanks a few days ago. we were just about to remove them all into our new setup. so we moved the rest into another tank and shut off the pump. the following day this appeared over the entire inside glass of the tank. i'm sure someone on here will know what...

no its a Metynnis hypsauchen (silver dollar) the angel is a strange one as it has black stripes on its sides, nothing unusual there you might think. but in fact the stripes disappear then come back again repeatedly every day. i've never heard of this before and not sure as to why it happens.
