    20 Gallon High

It's been a while since I've posted here. I kind of ran short on money so I put all my hobby's on the back burner. Now I have a little cash so I’d like to do something with my tank or start a new one. I have a twenty gallon high community tank at the moment. • 2 yellow glow danios • 2 male...

Old Tank Chiped But Still Holds Water

This is the best I could do. It's not quite as deep as i thought it was but still about 1/4 the thickness of the glass.

Old Tank Chiped But Still Holds Water

I found an old 20g tank in my parents attic. It hold water at the moment but I'm going to replace the silicone anyway. The only defects in it are a few chips out of the back corners about half way up. One is about half as deep as the thickness of the glass. It's not like people are going to see...

Setting Up A Breeder Tank Hopefully- Does It Need Cycling?

I'm no expert but I would Imagen you would have a few losses if you put fish in an unicycled tank. without an established bio filter you're ammonia is going to jump a few days after you put fish in there, especially in such a small tank. This might not only kill some fish but also stunt the...

    The Mind Of A Tetra

Because I'm one of those odd ball people who must be doing something all the time or I lose my mind. I get this horrible feeling that i should be doing something like writing a paper or studying or going to class. Then I realize that I have no responsibility's or anything interesting to do for 3...

    The Mind Of A Tetra

As I sat reformatting my computer yesterday, I watched my tetra trying not to think about all the hours of work I was losing. I've figured out that tetra only have 3 settings in there little minds. Possibly 4. 1.) FOOD!!!! 2.) I'm afraid so I'll school with other things that look like me and...

    Over Stocking? Hope Not.

Well I am a newbie so thats what I know. I'll cut it out then, just trying to help. I only like small fish and invertebrates so that rule works seems to work well in my case. :good: I always thought that a small number of fish works well if dune right, especially in a planted tank.

    Keeping A Single Male Guppy

I was talking to a guy in the pet store the other day and he suggested that I put a male fancy guppy in my tank. He didn't work there and I think he was going completely off of how the fish looked but I thought I'd ask anyway. I couldn't find any information on guppies temperament or if it would...

    I Hate Goldfish.

Update My brother ddecided he wanted to take the fish at least until it warms up outside. He's never had fish before and he's going to be disappointed when I tell him he needs to buy a bunch of chemicals to keep them alive, not to mention gravel for my old tank and possibly a new light for it...

    If You Had One Tank...

I don't know most of the fish i like are schooling fish, so just one wouldn't work. I guess I'd get an oscer or some type of big fish, that would be interesting on it's own. I probably would just grab a blue gill from my pond and see how big It would get.

    I Hate Goldfish.

It's only a 10 gallon tank but I'm thinking about moving the operation over to a 20g tank I have laying around. It seems kind of an over kill for 5 tetras, 5 danios, 2 snails and a hand full of shrimp but I've always been told bigger is better when it comes to tanks. I'll Probably stick with the...

Thanks for the reply I'll address you're questions one at a time. 1.) I didn’t actually buy the fish my roommate just gave me some of his feeder fish. I could have dune a fishless cycle but I attempted that with my last tank and it didn’t work out well. Admittedly I think might have dune it...

Thanks for the info. As soon as I get back I'll tell him about it. We attempted to feed them many of the things you mentioned but they didn't seem interested. I guess the key is to fast them them.

lol yes I though about it and you're right. I just can't believe that they would be able to live off of any less than I'm giving them. The pond I'm talking about is a full sized pond. I have large mouth bass, blue gill and a 3 foot long carp in there so I'm sure it's deep enough. They may get...

    Red Belly Vs Snail?

I personally like snails because they act like a tank vacuum and eat any left over food. Black mystery snails are my favorite but they do have the habit of over population. I believe there are a few ways to kill them off without hurting you're fish but I've never looked into it. there are types...

Turtles For My Son For Xmas

Chinese soft shell- http://www.reptilekeeper.co.uk/chinesesoftshellturt.php I've never had a turtle, I'm just good at finding information. Just make sure to research any turtle or any pet for that matter before getting it. The soft shell needs live food like fish and pinks (baby mice) and it...

100 gallon!!!!! :o We only have two of them at the moment! Unless his research is a little off I can't Imagen needing anything over 50 gallon for a year or two.
