Old Tank Chiped But Still Holds Water

I found an old 20g tank in my parents attic. It hold water at the moment but I'm going to replace the silicone anyway. The only defects in it are a few chips out of the back corners about half way up. One is about half as deep as the thickness of the glass. It's not like people are going to see them but I'm not shure if this means down the road the tanks going to crack. Hope not I really want a 20g. Any opinions on it?

Could be in a dodgy place. Can you post a pic, so we can deturmin if it is a replacement pannel job?

This is the best I could do. It's not quite as deep as i thought it was but still about 1/4 the thickness of the glass.

Sorry to say, that it looks like a replacement pane job to me.....If you topped it off with silicone, it might hold for a long while, but even the slightest crack will open up properly, if the tank moves slightly when full. This would always be playing on my mind, if it were my tank. Replacement glass shouldn't be too much, and if ur doing a re-silicone, you may aswell do the full job properly now, as you may be forced to re-do it later, if the pane fails under the stress later.
