oh, the water was discoloured from some bogwood i kno the fish dont mind but i do.so its ok to run it occasionally but not for long thanks for that i just read that it was harmfull to discus and freeked out :blush:

i would think not, goldfish are coldwater and i dont think they would handle the heat of ypur tropical tank

i read somewhere that carbon in the filter for discus can cause problems i have some in mine at the moment in my other tank i use it but dont leave it for more than a fortnite in case it dumps.is it differnt for discus ? should i take it out of discus filter?does anyone with discus use it or not...

oh dear im sorry ure feeling like that it does seam to happen tho ive been very dispondent with my tanks in the past and theyve made me a bit depressed when theyve had problems one after another another or one causing another please dont giv up because the fact that ure so stressed about them...

setteling my new discus of varing sizes in to 120g tank ive been preparing forever when can i do a 25%water change i netted them out of bag into tank this afternoon after slowly adding tank water to bag over 30-45mins ive got light off and havent fed them they seam very lively not sulking at all...

ive got 4 turqs 2 blue diamonds and 2 rising suns that are 50mm they were 35 new zealand dollars each and 2 turqs that are 90mm they were 60 each and the golden is 70mm he was 50 ,there in the tank now with lights off can anyone tell me how long before i feed them can i feed tomorrow ok?

have u thought in terms of a leek that could change everything .i flooded a bath in an upstairs flat and it got into all the wireing and made the hole house electric and yip the floor did colapse but........that was an old building i kno know wants to think of leeks but they do happen :rolleyes:

ive found java fern versatile as it will grow onto driftwood (you might have to tie it there with fishing nylon to start with)but it soon takes root
