Can anyone ID this species for me? I picked one up yesterday, and quite surprisingly, he's actually befriended my Giant Danio.

    Betta Finrot: Melafix + Trisulfa?

One of my boys has finrot rather bad.. I was away from the boys for a few weeks, due to college transportation issues.. and this is what I came home to. =/ I have him on Melafix, but I also have TriSulfa. I know TriSulfa would be better, but I try to use it sparingly (I'm allergic to...

    Freshwater Barracuda

the pink-tailed ones, SMB? RMSWillo had a few.. quite a while back. I semi-wanted them, but decided against it, just too aggressive for my tastes.

Green is out, Brown is in.

ok, now the water is all dingy.. what should I do? This is driving me nuts- they told me a 75 gallon would be easier maintenence wise than a 5 gallon because it's more stable...

you have nothing to worry about. There is virtually no chance that that animal came in contact with rabies. You should, however, disinfect the wound, and wrap it, to prevent secondary infection.

    Newts?

species tank meaning only 1 species lives in it. What I did whilst preping my tank for a newt, before I abandoned the idea, was to install one of those mesh hammocks used by Iguanas... though I'm not sure the little guys are capabe of swimming that high. You could try it, but not until you have...

    High pH

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I've added pH products like there's no friggin' tomorrow, and my pH stands at 8.6 or higher... It's getting me aggrivated... How do I tone it down?

    Newts?

TAA- are there fish in that tank? Can I get a bit more info on the setup? I have a paddletail I've wanted to some how incorporate with other species, but PTN's are aggressive and shouldn't be placed with other newts... and are supposedly verrrry sensitive to NH3. And onto the original...

Large plec and elephant nose with damage

Firstoff. Rule with Ele's is to get 1 or 5-6+. They are aggressive to their own kind. It's possible that the elephants have been ripping on each other or the plecs. I would also take a look at your betta. My elephant died due to a gash as such you have explained, good luck. What is your tank...

    Giant Danios and friends...

So, the other day, I got 7 Giant Danios, or rather, 6 Giant Danios, and another type of Danio that got thrown in with the Giant's- he's the same size, but he's got whiskers, and has a circle pattern rather than stripes- what is he? I saw a tank of them at the LFS, though they were more...

    Cloudy/Greenish water

I wrote what happened to her in the household pet forum, it was really helping me to express what was going on and stuff... incase you cared to know, but I understand if you don't- it wasn't a happy situation. Thank you for your condolence, however. My water is still a little foggyish, but no...

    Cloudy/Greenish water

My dog died, er, was euthanized Wednesday night, so I haven't been as on top of things as I'd like to be, but I've done 2 cleanings, haven't fed, and kept it covered, and things are coming along nicely. THanks guys!

    Keeping True Sharks.

I do not own, but this reminded me of something- Last time I was at RMS, they had 2 shark egg cases!! When I cupped my hand over the glass, I could see the baby leopard wiggling inside!! And the cases were only approx $24!! However, I live in the viscinity of an (ex) SeaWorld, who sells...

    Pets

Well, I had three dogs, but I just lost my GSD companion of 13 years on the 20th. I'm still heart broken. I still have a 3 year old and 3 month old Rottweilers, but they simply don't replace the feeling you get when you hug a wire-guard hair German Shepherd. I also own 2 cats that were rescued...

    New addition to the family...

well, unfortunately, Pit Bulls are one of those "buzz" breeds. It's illegal to try to adopt them out in some places- it's typically assumed that they were fighting dogs, and are euthanized. If I had the heart to adopt another animal, I'd go to the HS.. but unfortunately I'm so depressed...

    :'(

Well, I know I never post here... but I'm in need of... I don't know.. it helps to write stuff out, so I'm writing it wherever I can. An angel was pulled from earth yesterday. It was late, and Dodger rarely goes down by the barn, but she did last night, as my dad came home to shut the lights...

    Tetraodon travancoricus

The Willoughby RMS carries them, however not very frequently. If you ask one of the fishy-guys, they might be able to order one for you... I know even Pet Supplies Plus (gack!!) orders animals in for people. I think it's better to get one rather than to order one off the internet- shipping...

    Cloudy/Greenish water

yeah, I'm willing to give it a shot. The water change again today seemed to help... though, maybe my eyes are lying. If I'm already adding pH reducer, should I be concerned about adding that additional product as well?

    1/2 gallon 2 small?

well don't bite my head off... but... I've kept many bettas, and always tried to get them into a community size, I have a 75 gallon they'd just love... yet... they die in there. Why would I get mad? I'm asking for help.. and you're offering it. I see no reason to get mad. Fish Compatability

This clarity problem :P hehe, and thanks for the advice on that, too! =D and... I forget what the numbers were, but I have a Biowheel filter, and there were 2 models the RMS guys said were appropriate for the tank, and I opted for the larger version.

    Cloudy/Greenish water

Are you referring to maybe I over-feed? I probably don't feed even as often as I should... but the fish look healthy, so I must be doing something right. We usually go to the RMS in Willoughby, on Robinhood Drive... I've always wanted to check the rest out, and almost got to, when they shipped...

    Fish Compatability

Sorry for the post-bombing guys, I've been out for a while- too long. I own a 75 gallon, fairly empty because I can't get the clarity problem under control... So, stocking idea! many Giant Danios... to form a shoal a handful of Kuhli loaches maybe some Congo Tetras possibly a rather large...

    Cloudy/Greenish water

Thanks for the input, SMB. It could very well be an algae bloom.. but it's never ending, and the tank gets absolutely no natural sunlight- it's in the basement... so I'm not sure if that changes anything or not. PS: I'm out of the Cleveland area as well... I spend lotsa time at RMS, the super...
