Well the only small fish I'd be concerned about is the tetras....and I'd only get a shoal if the cichlid would "allow" it as such. Will certainly keep this in mind though blue acara :good:

Yeah I'd hard about this mistake being quite common. Any tips on how I'd be able to spot the difference given how small they are? or is it best just to stay clear? As i realy don't want anything too agressive considering what else I'm going to keep

I quickly googled giant danio and it says they get to about 6 inches, which is about the same as a silver doller. Would they be better suited simply because they are a lot slimmer?

a 50ft python over here will set you back at least £60 from what I've been able to find ($120). My DIY one with the python bits and stuff should come to abouve £30 or $60 - but they're realy expensive over here.

Won't having a pair seriously cut down on the "peacefulness" of the tank though? I want to avoid any mating behaviour really as it causes so much problems in what other fish can be stocked.
