Ok so i have my trigon 190l and i am going to be setting it up at the weekend and moving my fish out of the 110l into the new tank. As the new tank won't be cycled i will also be moving my eheim internal filter into the tank. My question is how long will i have to leave that filter in there...

Yeh this wouldn't surprise me as i only got him in the summer and the tank he was in before was even smaller than mine!! He will go into the trigon as soon as its ready so he will have a bit more room and then i suppose i will have to try and find him a nice big new home, but i will be sad to...

Yeh i'd say he is getting close to that now, about 10-11 inchs at the moment :(

Ahh thats a shame i was hoping i would be able to keep him but looks like i'm gonna have to rehome him. :sad: How long could i keep him in the 190l until he outgrows that roughly? i think he is about 5 yrs old now

i def think running your tank at a higher temp during cycling speeds it up a bit. mine took just 2 and a half weeks from scratch running at 30- 32 degrees. other than that its just a waiting game. stick it out :good:

yep all i can recommend is turning the temp up. mine has been running at 30- 32 degress the whole time and it seems to have really sped it up. i don't think 2 and a half weeks is bad at all and has saved alot of stress for my potential fish :good:

For me, one pipette of declor treats 9 litres of water. so i put a pipette full in the bottom of my 10 litre bucket and use my jug to measure out 9 litres then add it to the tank. it takes a while but my tank is nowhere near a sink so i couldnt fill it straight from the tap anyway

im sure i read somewhere that once the ph drops too low the ammonia is turned into ammonium and not processed because it needs diff bacteria to process ammonium. the ammonium is still readable on the test kit so could that be why mine seems to have stalled?? and therefore a large water change to...

i only added 8ppm when i first started it as i didnt kno how much to use and overdosed. once that went ive been using a capful which is 4ppm.

i have an api ammonia liquid test but was using tetra test 5 in 1 strips so ive been told to ignore my dodgy readings. i have an api master test kit in the post. so if i do a 40% water change with declorinator it will kick start it again ?? :S
