2 of my platies have very long white poo, ive never kept fish before so im not sure if its normal. ive never seen any of my other fish poo, but the platies always have long poo attached to them for ages. otherwise they seem fine, ive had them just over a week. Ammonia- 0ppm, Nitrite 0ppm & nitrate- around 40ppm

any ideas if its internal parasites?? if so what do i do??

Hi, i dont think it sounds like internal parasites, but u never know.

we had a danio which had an internal problem, but his stomach just swelled up look like he was going to pop and looked very uncomfortable, he was like it for a good year! he died the other day funny enough!

it sounds pretty normal to me? our fish poo stays in their bum for a while! specially our pleco!! haha :p but i have to say its not white, it coulbe be what u feed them?

Try some shelled peas for a day or two.
Check the anus of the fish to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.
Any fish gone thin or bloated up.

the platies do look pretty fat but they could be pregnant so im not sure. i was worried about my loaches having skinny disease coz i read that they are prone to it but they seem ok although one did a red poo last nite

i don't kno whats normal and whats not ?

Have you been feeding and red foods or blood worms.

Ok, have you tryed the peas and has it made any difference.

i was trying to find out how to prepare those?? do u jus defrost them and put them in or does anything need to be done to them??

Cook peas in boiling water for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.

if your fish arent constipated there isnt a real point in feeding them peas. and it sounds like their doing fine.

Daphnia is very good for digesting a fish food.
