    Hairgrass Is Looking Miserable

    Where did you buy your hairgrass from? I found lots of nurserys grow it emerged and it will die off when it goes into your tank. Just wait awhile it will adapt and grow back, at least thats what mine did.

    Mixing Substrates

    A 2 sand to 1 ecco-complete looks really niice IMHO. Ex: 40 lbs of sand to a 20 pack of Ecco.

    Depends on the kind of plant, but yes there are both tropical and cold water plants.
