If theres a hole in the liner, it would float. Also if there is a hole, it would drain without the pump. Otherwise a pump only looses water if there is a leak in the connections/seals

I agree. I beleive your tank is to small. I only have 1 fantail now due to heater cooking the other. Hes gotta play with 3 tinfoils, and 3 comets, 1 common all double his size easily and they dont even give the fantail a 2nd look about bullying, they all swim together.

for those feeder fish (commons comets) no need for a heater. A fountain filter or any pond filter will do, just have to skim the leaves out when they fall in etc. 3x5 isnt really big for a pond, probably fit 2-3max of them

Ok petco is open time 9pm so I went there and got a 200watt Visi-Therm Stealth. Its tuned to around 76 now so hopefully the temp wont drop to fast, then over the next few days drop it to where I originally had it. Also got some stress coat and some some in, just in case. Currently 86.5
