I only use liquid test kit-- the Freshwater Master Kit, and like I said, all ofther tanks are testing where they should be BUT- since the last 3 gallon water change and removing all of the leftover food and whshing the plants, the levels are staying at 0, where they should be, I will retest...

thanks! I did the waster change (1 gallon) and added a tank buddy tab - "ammonia clear tank buddies" -- it helped lower the ammonia by about half, so that is really good. I also noticed the betta has a little bit of a black rim on his tail, like tail rot, but not bad at all, just like a thin...

ok, i finally got a test kit... it is confusing, i took a picture of the results, maybe yall can tell me what the 'right numbers' are. By me looking at it - I got: a PH of 7.6 (didnt take pic, that one was easy) a nitrate of only 0-0.5 (cant really tell, it is a little darker than 0 though...

i would like to hear the answer as well, I am not going to sand, but would like to switch out my gravel for another color or even clear marbles. I do not have a 'under gravel filter' if that makes a difference. thanks for asking this! (sorry I dont know the answer either - I am learning too LOL)

the lps was out of the test kits :-( so will have to get tomorrow when they get shipment. But we did another 1.5 gal water change, using bottled water, everyone seems fine, healthy looking etc. I cant wait for this darn test kit, i will probably overtest, but hey, cant hurt by being too careful...
