Our angelfish has started to eat our tetras and he needs a new home . We got him along with a tank from a friend who had kept them together , i read that they were prone to this but wasn't concerened as there was no signs of this happening . I think there a nice fish . They like to be kept in shoals and i keep mine in a small shoal of six fish .

I'd say it looks hard as much as it's not like a blister with fluid underneath anyway . I'll give your suggestion a go if i can find it at my LPS . Thanks

I do something similar change the pads weekly and a water change fortnightly and i also clean the filter in the old tank water too at that time . I just think the Jewel filter is naff at removing the wee bits that seem to be suspended in the water . Kip

Thanks Kenstir will give that a go as i'm actually thinking of using an additional filter as opposed to removing the Jewel all together . So if it improves the performance of the Jewel system that's great . Cheers .

Yeah that's still an option to remove it all together . I see you use an Aquaball filter , how do you find this filter performs as it's the one i'm considering using ? Cheers . Kip

Hi Radar , Thanks for posting . I don't have any other options other than another internal filter . It was an Ehiem i was looking at ( Aquaball ) though i was originally going to add under gravel filtration but that seems to bring it's own probs .

Thanks for that i will need to get a bottle of that or one of the other filter/bacteria start up solutions . My filter has a carbon insert anyway which will need replacing soon . Apart from the gravel there is nothing else in the tank . kip
