    Missing Acf

Any luck? I've heard they can be escape artists, is it possible he jumped out while the lid was open for the cleaning? I hope he's been found safe and sound.

    Angelfish Fighting (video)

They were bought together when young, I can't rmemeber how long we've had them, a year or so. The tank is 55 gallons. The fish are all sick with fin rot right now because my dad neglected the tank while I was away at college, I've been fighting with him over this tank for a while now and I think...

    Angelfish Fighting (video)

My angelfish have been apparently fighting for a few months now. My tank is neglected while I am at college (my dad is in charge of it, I'm working on teaching him and I think it's finally sinking in since the fish are getting sick) so during that time the fighting goes away for the most part, I...

    Best Fin Rot Treatment

The tank is cycled (and has been for years) but the water quality is not great. While I am at college my dad is left in charge of the tank and he slacks on water changes and over feeds. I am going to do frequent water changes and try my best to get my dad keeping up with it when I leave. When I...

    Best Fin Rot Treatment

We have a case of fin rot in our 55 gallon tank. I have tried treating it with Melafix in the past but it did not work. What would be the best treatment for it? Pretty much all of the fish in the tank have it (though we are very understocked because we can't seem to keep fish healthy so we are...

Any Ideas What Disease This Is?

It really doesn't look fuzzy to me but it could be, I just don't see it myself. I think I'll take the sick fish out and treat with maracyn and maracyn 2. And maybe treat the main tank with pimafix and melafix to try and kill anything that might be floating around. If I can afford all of that.

Any Ideas What Disease This Is?

You don't think it's columnaris do you? A member of another forum thought it could be so I'm pretty worried. What product would you recommend for treatment? We have API and mardel products around here. Should I just remove the sick fish and treat him or treat the whole tank with the medication?

Any Ideas What Disease This Is?

My bleeding hearts have become ill due to poor water conditions that occurred while I was away at college. That's what I assume has caused their fin loss, so I'm working on getting the tank in an acceptable condition (the Nitrates are VERY high so I'm doing daily water changes). Anyway one of...

    Feeding Bleeding Heart Tetras

Mine don't like eating from the top either, they WILL but they won't get as much as if I sink the food for them (just take a pinch of flakes in my fingers and put it under the water then let go and swirl it around a bit) because the other fish in the tank eat it before they get up the "courage"...

    Cleaning Sand Substrate

Don't worry about it too much. I use sand in my frog tank and even if I stick the siphon right down into the sand it only sucks a small amount out, most falls back down. But I suppose the strength of the siphon makes a difference.

    Can We Get A Betta?

My dad has said he'd like to get a Betta for our 55 gallon community fish tank and I want to make sure there won't be any fighting. We currently have Angel fish, Serpae tetras, Pristella tetras, bleeding heart tetras, Cherry barbs, and a BN Pleco. I also might like to get Phantom tetras and...

    Can't Keep Cories Alive

Alright thanks for the info. I know they were getting food, I used a turkey baster to put it right in front of them and they'd eat. So I bet it was infection. I guess no more cories for us! I'd love to use sand, I use regular play sand in my frogs' tank and it is much cleaner and more natural...

    Can't Keep Cories Alive

I have a 55 gallon community fish tank filled with mainly tetra species as well as cherry barbs, a BN Pleco, and harlequin Rasboras. I really like cories and have tried several times to keep them in this tank but they never survive for more than a few months. They would always loose their...

Can I Have Killifish In My Tank?

Right now our tank is mainly Tetras. We have Bleeding Hearts, Serpae (we are down to 2 and don't plan on adding more as I've heard they are nippers though ours have been fine), Phantom tetras, Pristella Tetras, and Diamond Tetras. In addition to the tetras we have Cherry Barbs, Harlequin...

    Diabetic

Sorry to hear about your cat's diagnosis, but glad he is not having any bad issues with it. MANY diabetic cats can have completely normal blood sugar without any insulin if fed the proper diet. I think either maving to an all canned food diet (preferabally grain free to reduce carbs) or a home...

    Pictures Of My Frogs

Do you have a home lined up for him? I do think I'd like to try for a third again, I was worried at first considering what happened but now that I know I have to acclimate him I'm assuming things will go much better. My only concern would be shipping in this temperature....

    Pictures Of My Frogs

They're great! I definately think Rufus is female, Moe might be too but it's not as obvious if he is, so the jury's still out on him/her. I do get kind of worried when I try to change water and they decide food MUST come from the big tube and try to get in the way of the siphon, but I haven't...

Thanks everyone! I actually did notice that Jenste, but I thought it was too early to tell. There's definately something there, looks like Rufus might need a new name lol.

    Pictures Of My Frogs

Here are some pics of the two froglets I bought from Jenste. Their names are currently Rufus and Moe but once I can tell their sex I'll change them accordingly. The little guys love to eat, they get excited whenever I open the tank lid, they certaintly have personality! Moe tried eating from my...

    Land Hermit Crabs

Oh and I think I forgot to mention that these guys can live a mighty long time. The longest captive ones on record lived into their 30's I believe. They are usually able to live into their teens. The vast majority don't due to improper care. Unfortunately even when cared for properly wild ones...

    African Clawed Frogs

Alright, sounds good. It's gonna be $15 for the frogs and then $30 something for shipping right? Send me the paypal info and I'll give you the $15 as soon as I figure out how to use paypal, I assume it's not too complicated right?

    African Clawed Frogs

Oh and one more question. When I was going to order the Axolotl the person said I'd have to pick him up at the post office (which is doable but not preferable as I don't have a car and don't know the area very well). Would the frogs come to my address (school campus) or the post office?

    African Clawed Frogs

Oh, that's great then, I'll reserve the three. One question, I've never bought anything online before believe it or not, what methods can I use to pay you? Yeah, the Axolotl was gonna be $50 shipping, and with the Axie costing $30-32 it was just too much. But $32 shipping sounds just fine.

    African Clawed Frogs

I'll probably get them from your next batch unless you happen to have three left over frogs from this batch in two weeks, which is, as you said, very unlikely.

    Crates

Whether it's pressure or pain depends on how hard the dog is pulling. I would never use one during regular training as I don't believe in giving regular flat collar corrections, never mind ones with a prong collar, such punishment has no place in training IMO, but to each their own. If I put one...

    Crates

If I didn't crate my dog he'd go to the bathroom all over wherever I put him all night. He would never learn to hold it at night, he'd get in the habbit of thinking night time is an okay time to go to the bathroom in the house. You can train when you are awake, not asleep or not home. Plus I'd...

    African Clawed Frogs

Thank you very much for the info, these guys are starting to look very attractive. I was origonally looking at Axolotls which are very cool but the cost is going to be ridiculous (IMO, and in my situation as a college student). I read up on these guys and found they have similar care as far as...

    African Clawed Frogs

How much would it cost to ship to Biddeford, ME? How about Natick, MA? My house is in MA but my dorm is in ME, that is why I ask about both places. I am looking for a dorm pet I can have in a 20 gallon tank, could I keep two in a 20 long or would I be better off with a regular 20 gallon (has...

    Crates

We use a crate for thenew pup Tucker. He's not housebroken yet so the crate prevent potty accidents and keeps him safe (and our house safe) while we are asleep or are not home. We actually don't use it when we are at work because 7 hours, especially after being in for an 8 hour night, it a bit...

    Its Decided :d

Well that's too bad, I assume the parents have not been screened for genetic diseases and malformities they could pass on to their offspring? I also assume they have not have any sort of temperament evaluation to prove that they are stable or have the proper temperament for their breed? So...

    Axolotl.

The only other thing I didn't notice you say is that they don't like a strong current so get a filter with a low current or use something to diffuse the current. Oh and do a once weekly water change, make sure to suck up uneaten food daily. Good luck with the little guy. I want one SO badly but...

    Land Hermit Crabs

Oh and here are my little guys: Aphrodite: Ophelia(L) and Titan (Titan's actualy trying to guard the food) Rhea: Hermes: I don't have pics of the 6th one, he and hermes are new so have been underground a lot and are very skittish, especially the 6th one so I don't want to stress them too...

    Land Hermit Crabs

I've owned them (properly at least, I owned them about 6 years ago for about a year but they died every few months) for a little over 2 years now. They require much more work than a pet store will have you believe, but in the long run are not that difficult. They need at least a 10 gallon tank...

    How Many

The first one I lost a few months back, right after we got him. he might have been sick when we got him or died of shock. The other one was weird, I woke up one morning and both the Cory and my bristle nosed Pleco were dead right next to each other. The cory had not been acting weird except he...

    Skittish Bleeding Hearts

I have three bleeding Heart tetras. They stay in a corner behind a plant all day until I feed them, then they eat like crazy and pick at the bottom a bit. the next morning they are back in their corner. I was wondering if it is because there are not enough of them. Do you think if I got more...
